Got my email today, my 70" is supposed to ship tomorrow.

Ok, this is making me nervous. I got no email. But I did talk to AVS twice on the phone today. They called me both times. I know my card was charged, and I know my set either left this afternoon, or is leaving tomorrow morning. But I never got anything in writing, and was not given an expected delivery date.
I really hope my spam filter didn't flush the email.

When your 70" monster comes in you will received a email or call from Jason...No I put myself on the back of the list...I just put out a lot of $$$ finishing my FP room...and I still need carpeting...I hope to get my 70" before the Superbowl.

Make sure your cable box is outputting a format that is compatible with the JVC (e.g. Not 540P).

Interesting, and concerning... When Jason called me way back when he said I was the 4th person to reserve the 70". I haven't received a phone call or email from him about availability.

There is a very in depth article (#2 in a series of 3) on LCOS technology & comparisons between several models. They had a JVC Pro on hand but it was an early prototype.

I only got a chance to scan thru the article but was left with the impression that there is a major difference in the Iris function of the Pro compared to other JVC's. It also measured quite differently than the Consumer models.

Curiously, of the 5 LCOS models they tested & measured Sony was not included??

No I did not. My company is a JVC Pro dealer.

The JVC Pro they reviewed was an entirely different model. It is their technology showpiece. The $45,000 DLA-HRM1.

This article is more about LCOS Technology than a consumer review.
Like I said I got only a cusory glance but I saw nothing in the article referring to HD-SDI Inputs which is a main feature of the $45,000.00 Pro??

I talked with AVS this morning. My 70" was shipped yesterday, but since I am on the West Coast (Seattle), I may or may not receive it by Christmas. All TV's are being shipped via RoadWay (ground transport). They also told me once Jason has tracking information, he will provide the tracking info to each person. So, looks like things are moving.

I beg your pardon. Are you simply buying a TV, or are you joining the Klan or the Masons? What (the hell) is this supposed to mean for folks who just want to watch TV? I must conclude that these "deals" are not in touch with what many floks consider to be reality.

Armond, the reason for the confidentiality of the PB is as follows:
- There are 'un-reputable non-authorized' dealers reviewing these boards in order to find out the price authorized dealers are selling products for, then undercutting the price and potentially selling product to customers who think they are buying from an authorized dealer when in fact they are not. The customer (you) gets screwed since buying from a non-authorized dealer voids any warranty, etc. Yes this has happened, and it started to happen on this exact PowerBuy until the AVS administrators sniffed it out and pulled the thread. So, confidentiality of the PB is for the consumers own good.

Be careful with MasterCard's extended warranty rules. MC will only extend a warranty up to one year if the original warranty is up to one year. If the original warranty is greater than one year, there is no extra coverage offered by MC!

Yes, that means the Pro's 18 month warranty is all you get with MC, while the Consumer model, being only one year original warranty, will get the extra year benefit form MC. When I heard these rules on MC's 800 number I decided to talk to a live representative, who confirmed the rules. DOH!

I wonder if I can ask JVC to chop that warranty back to 1 year for the Pro and get a spare bulb in exchange?

Bottom line: be sure to get exact warranty details from your credit card company.

My wife just informed me that she received a call from Jason and confirmed the order of a HD-P70R1U. Apparently it should be in CA in a week or so. Woo hoo! For those keeping track, I was #4 to reserve a 70" set with AVS through the PowerBuy.

Unfortunately my wife didn't ask any other questions of Jason, so I have no input for those who wanted to know about shipping method etc.

I also received my call this morning for the 70" delivery. I was also fairly high up on the list. I'm assuming it will be shipped via motorfrieght. I should get the tracking number tomorrow. $1 says it gets to Ventura county 1st

I can't wait to heard from you new Pro owners...please post lots of pictures and details etc.
Hopefully someone will hook one of these up to a OPPO Dvd player and Dish 942 and 811.

Joe, I have an Oppo that's been sitting collecting dust since the Samsung was returned in September. So, I should be able to help you with that one by posting some pics perhaps late next week (if others don't beat me to it!). I have TW cable, though, so I can't help with the Dish equipment.

My wife spoke with Jason today and my 61" will be shipped out today or tomorrow....
