Hello everyone, glad there is a rbh owners thread. First time posting on avs but I had to get in on this. I have RBH 61 signature edition reference speakers and they are great. I was previously using klipsch sf-2 and even though the klipsch are tower speakers the 61 smoked them in every aspect except for bass extension (61 se/r are booKshelf sized). The wide dispersion and speed are AWESOME.

Im considering the 661 ser for front l-c-r.... Having a hard time tracking them down for a listen. Anybody have these???????

Happy happy joy joy!

Added as of 3/30...in home, and to be installed this weekend:

- RBH MC-615 In-ceiling surrounds (to replace generic in-ceilings)
- RBH TS-10AP 200W amp sub (to replace cheapo KLH sub)

Ooooooooooooooooooo BABY! Complete matched RBH MC 5.1 system will finally be in place...Looking forward to rocking the house (and neighborhood) starting this weekend!

I really like the look of the 61-SE (and the whole line in general). Haven't heard them myself, but a friend in another state has them in his setup and loves 'em.

I am looking at RBH and would like to get a pair to compare with my NHT M5 to see if I want to replace them or not. I don't have a dealer around me.

Right, those look very nice although I don't know how the "truncated line array" sounds. I'ts supposed to add more dynamics and realism to the sound. They compared it to the t2 which uses a similar setup.(which I haven't heard either)

In every category except bass extension IMHO. I have had the sf-2 tower for awhile and actually blew them out (played them a little too loud, I think). I was forced to upgrade and then gave RBH a listen. The Klipsch will play louder (due to efficiency) but I felt that the quality of sound was being colored by their tweeters. I wanted to get the 1266 se/r but didn't have the cash. So I got the 61-se/r and the dispersion and the neutrality of the sound were far better than any of klipsch's speakers, I even compared them to klipsch's reference line bookshelf the rb -75. I still felt that the RBH's were better. (more neutral sounding, more "air" and in my perception of their quickness, more speed) Please keep in mind that these speakers have been upgraded with status acoustic drivers for the tweeter and woofer. And the other RBH series I listened to were the mc series as the dealer had none of the signature line to demo, only se/r 61 bookshelves. I cannot say how the 661 se/r compares but in audioholics they said it has a bit more frequency range than the bookshelves.

Hi there,

Finally I have everything up and running.

2 x 1266SE
2 x 66SE
1 x 661SE/R
1 x 12SE

Denon 4306
Denon 3910
3 x Jands Amps (2 x 1500w each @ 4ohms)

These are the first "reference grade" speakers I have owned, and I can only really compare them against the B&W 700 series as my brother owns the 703's, HTM7, 705's & ASW750. My bro also uses the same electrics exept for the 4306, he has the 3806.
After making the transaction and waiting for the speakers to arrive, I kind of had a feeling of regret as I chose to ignore probably the most important rule, "Listen before you purchase". I had never heard these speakers before now, and I am presently feeling absolutely no regret.
The sound that these speakers produce is truely amazing in every aspect. With no doubt, I prefer them over my brothers system (IMO). My brother actually admitts he liked the RBH's better also. Maybe it's room accoustics? I dont care, my theatre sounds better hahaha.

Great...glad to hear you got things completed and you are pleased. Sharing your new-found sound is one of the most fun parts of the new setup, isn't it. Had a few friends over this weekend and they started out "RBH, what the heck is that?" and ended up with "RBH...wow."

Their out of my range too!!!! Im using Cambridge surrounds and subs...I will eventually upgrade them all to the RBH, but they are fine for now. Im using a low/mid range yamaha (100 wat) That may be the first upgrade as they say these are power hungry..... Question for u guys..... The 661/ser are dual rear ported, Im finding that keeping them plugged results in cleaner bass???? This goes against RBH's reccomendation of removing the foam plugs (just supposed to be used for cabinet installation)..... any thoughts??????????????????

I think the correct phrase would be "smokin'!"

A buddy who is good with audio is supposed to come over to help me tune my audio setup in the next couple of weeks...though my own tweaking has me very happy, he assures me that when he's done I'll offer to wash and wax his car for 6 months...and he has an Excursion.

Sub is so much cleaner and shakes the room w/out degenerating into a confused rumble like my old one did...surrounds are more, I guess the word would be transparent...old ones stood out too much ("Look at me, I'm surrounding you!"). RBH surrounds blend and surround w/out distracting.

Just couldn't be happier...though my audio-enabled buddy says I will be...

It just makes me sick to think how much money is thrown at BOSE by peolpe who think that they are buying the "best". I know a few friends who had to rethink that one over after experiencing what RBH's sound like.

I don't know about any of you, but I would rather have an amazing sounding speaker in my wall than those goofy looking cubes all over my house.

I hope to see more of get in on the thread. We can surely help this great company get the word out. If I can help in any way, please drop me a line.

Kerry, can you explain a little more about what RBH told you about the differences in the MC and the Signatures????? I just purchased 3 661/SER's....did I make a mistake????????????? Also.... is there any benefit in getting the 1010sep over the 1010se????????????

Chiming in ... we were just recently approved as an RBH dealer (custom A/V shop), and this is going to be one of the three main lines we recommend to our clients. I work out of my home and use my LR as a demo station for clients, so the plan is to stock a pair of speakers from each of our three primary lines for this purpose.

I had been considering ordering the 661SE/R for this, then ... and if my eval of this goes well I'll likely use this as my full-time L/C/R setup. However, I'm curious about the following feedback...
