Question for you 661 owners - is this a sealed, or rear-ported speaker?

661/ser are dual rear ported

I have a pair of 1266-SE's with the status driver and xover upgrade. what do you guys think would be a fair asking price? there are some scuffs at the bottom of the cabinets.

and no... im not selling them because I dislike them.. I want to upgrade to a T2 system..

Any ideas on how much the ceiling mounts cost? Like the MC-615, TK-615 or A-615? Are there any good in-ceiling substitutes for RBH's for those of us on a budget?

Need some advice fellas.

I have a pair od 1255-SE's in black oak. They have the status upgrades. I also have a 661-SE with the status upgrades that I use for the center channel.

The speakers are incredible. I never hears speakers with such precise imaging and speed as I have these. I cant rate them a perfect 10 out of 10 bu.. I would probably say they were a 7 out of 10 because there are a few nicks on the very bottom.

They work pefectly but now because I have a much larger room I need to move towards a different speaker.

In anycase Im trying to figure out fair pricing for these. I know the general range the standard 1266's sell for but there arent many out there with the status upgrades.

Any thoughts on fair market value for these?

What is the MSRP of the Status upgrades vs. the stock drivers?

Also, what model is the 1255se?

oops I made a typo its the 1266-se's

I believe its about double the standard model.

status upgraded model is $5000 while the normal 1266-se's are $2500

I think the nifty thing is that I have a matching 661 with status drivers in addition to the mains.

I figured a fair price to be around $2500 for the pair. But I might be way off. Considering they were part of a limited release.

Actually, in Black Oak the 1266-SE has an MSRP of $2999 pr. the 1266-SE/R (Status upgrade) in Black Oak has an MSRP of $3999 pr., last I check anyway. Unless you are talking about the 1266-LSE??? but of course it is the same as the SE/R, just an earlier Limited Edition, resale value would probably be about the same.

yea these are the LSE series.. I think im in the ballpark atleast. its good to know

the tough thing with RBH is the name isnt as popular as the household brands.. .its really hard getting people to understand how significant the status upgrade is

actually the LSE have a solid machine aluminum plate where the binding posts are and the crossover is superior because they use the status acoustic crossover while the SER uses the signature crossover.

so they made an SER with status drivers but it had the lesser xover while the LSE had both the status drivers and xovers?

I think I might of had the SER's then. I know they have the status drivers (its rather obvious). I'll have to look inside to see what scoop is.

Speaking of RBH. I happen to have a 661 in black which im replacing with the T1. The buyer of my 1266's isnt doing surround thus not needing it. If any fellow RBH owners are looking for a status upgraded 661 give me a shout. Its in excellent cosmetic condition.

In anycase im putting in an order for some T-2P's and a T1 center channel. im pretty excited over it.

wished I could get the piano gloss finish but the price difference is just too extreme for my budget.

I just sold that exact same system, with four 66se surrounds. How big is your room?

About 16 feet front to back and 21 feet wide. the ceilings are 12 feet high.

Im soo psyched.. I just wrapped up the order..

They should be here next week. T-2P plus a T1 for the center. I have a pair of 66's in the rear. If I cant sell the 661 status speaker I have I might just look at adding a second one and put the 661's across the rear and us the 66's on the sides.

They should work great in your room. Mine is 12' X 20' and, with 2 rows of recliners, just too small. Let us know what you think once you get them set-up...

RBH T2P (Main L/R) and T1 (center) ---- Klipsch RSW-5 in-wall surrounds.

Room (inside dimensions) 14' 8" x 23'4" x 9 (large opening in front about 12'W x 8'H and rear 3'W x 8'H and so far so good.

If you need RBH I can give you a good source.

Yep, just talked to the factory last week. They are out of cabinets until week of August 21st, so no T-1's or 1010's til then...

yea I just cant stand it anymore

they emailed me and said mine are shipping out on Monday.

Its been a long 2 weeks (not a big deal if its expected but I really didnt expect them to not have any in stock)

ok I dont know whats worse...

knowing the day the T2's are being delivered or not knowing..

all I keep doing is checking the tracking numbers as if by some magic they are going to showup overnight :\\

20 posters, 80some posts, 9 months....how many dealers does RBH have nationwide?

I don't think you are going to find an answer to that question. They limit the amount of dealers in every marketplace.

Hey guys, I figured I would join the thread now as I have completed the purchase of my setup. I got a screaming deal on two 661-se's and a pair of gloss black 66-se's off of audiogon. Roughly half price for the 661's and 1/3 price for the 66's. I was about to punch the ticket for a pair of 661-se/r's for the same amount but I couldn't pass on such a good deal. Well enough bragging, these will finish out my system of 1 441-se and pair of 66-se's and SVS PB12+. I had to use the 441 as a center due to size constraints of my entertainment center. I have these paired up for the moment with a pair of Acoustic Research AR-5's that have served me faithfully for the past five years and have matched well with the RBH's. All of these are driven by an Arcam AVR-300. However my enjoyment of my recent purchase will have to wait until I return back to the US this month and can bring them back on our plane(KC-130), so it won't be until November that I'll be able to hear them.
Talk about anxious!
Well enough of my rambling hope to hear from you guys.

I also wanted to see if any of you had recommendations for stands for the 661's.
I was looking at the Atlantis Reference 28" stands which with speakers would stand a total of 50" placing the tweeter at about 39" which is right about my ear height when sitting down. Plus they look fairly sturdy and heavy and are fillable which is a plus as I will have a child crawling around in about 4-5 months. My only concern is the top plate is only 6x8 1/2 and the speaker base is 8 3/4x 11 1/2.

BTW: Scenaria did you receive your new T-2 setup yet? That will be my next setup when I move back to the states.

New RBH owner checking in. Had them about a month but very little listening time so far unfortunately: my CDs were stolen and my server had another disk go bad. Setup:

Now I just need some surrounds. Finding matching RBH's seems darn near impossible so I'm looking at the usual Internet brands. Axioms have really poor extension (QS4 = 100z, QS8 = 95Hz), and Ascend doesn't make any dipole/bipoles, so probably going with Onix (RS300) as soon as I find a good deal. Any sage advice from the RBH faithful?
