But the good news is from what I was told by the dealer who called def tech a couple mins ago said , " when parts are available for the 7000sc they will continue to start the production assembly for them in min Jan of 2011.

So i guess ill have to wait unless one of you wants to sell yours?

If you dont have a sub, I would say it would be ok. But I think others are saying it muddys the sound.

In addition not all Towers have LFE they are Full Range. So hooking them up this way you would be losing some of the frequencies in your Towers and chopping some of the lower/mid range out between your highs.

But I could be totally off.

I would say skip the Yamaha all together and buy a Pio Elite SC25 or SC27. You can get them at BB either open box or some are still in box for 7-9 benji's. They run 140watts through ICE AMPS, and are really nice sounding. Another thought would be to go Marantz, Denon or even Integra. If you go with one of these I would say buy in the Mid/High range around the price you are wanting to spend and you will not need an amp. Make sure they have Pre Outs... and then you can use the AVR as a PRE PRO down the road.

A few on here run EMO's and like them, and some say they are really bright with Def Tech speakers. It is either Mikesp or Counsil that uses Macintosh or ATI amps and he really likes those. Keep in mind they are a little more then you are wanting to spend for both.

I actually think I might break down in a yr or two and get the ATI 3007 which is 300watts per channel into 7 channels I think. And I hear they are very under rated in power.
