I ordered 8060 towers, 8040 center, 8040 surrounds, pro monitor 1000's for front high. I was thinking of getting a pair of bp8's for side surrounds then using the 8040's as back surround. Does anybody forsee any issues using the older driver technology with the newer technology drivers?
Also the 8060 package has still not arrived. I could go get my money and could get bp8s from newegg for 200 a peice and build from there. ???
what would be matching center for bp8's?

I'd personally take the 8060 over the BP8 assuming you didn't get scammed. I'd probably return the PM1000 for SM45 wides.

I am interested in adding both heights and wides for a total of 11.2. How is this accomplished with a 9.2 preamp? Also, why are you selling your trinity? That must be a beast![/quot

I run an Integra as well. There is no way to do 11.2 with their current models. You can do high OR wide, not both. I did high for a while and in my case I was not impressed. It is said that wide is more noticable than high.

In my case, my towers are in the rear of a 7.2 channel system. I use bpvx as my side speakers. If I was only running 5.1, my towers would become my side surrounds but remain in the rear of the room.

are there rules on this forum when talking about prices or selling items? Pretty new and figured it would be good to know

I was going with the pro monitor 1000's for the mounting accesability. Also the 45's have the port in the back. Perhaps some stands but they would need to be like 5-6 feet high for front heights. I would perfer to use 45's or 55's or hey maybe 65's. If I owned the home where I live I would custom build shevles for them but this isn't possible. I bought the PM 1000's from a guy from Audiogan so they are non returnable but I can always resale them as they are new in the box. thoughts?

Javygonx the 7006 is a far better speaker than the BP8 the ProCinema is a lesser speaker than even the BP series. Your Polk R7's are fine speakers in their own right. I would look at just upgrading your center with a upper end Polk center. Why take the loss in selling your Polks when the noticeable difference replacing your mains will be small where upgrading the center and buying a great sub will have more of an impact. If you do decide to sell go with the 7006's

I was planning on purchasing the 8080 surround making a 7 channel.. powering them by the 2 Emotivo 5 channel' amps.. (additional speakers to be added later) will this be too much power, or I guess you can't have too much power.. smile.gif I'm looking to use the Yamaha 2020 adventage receiver... your opinions are appreciated.

To keep your caps on sounds like you need some new tree locks

UOFAZ1 how have you been havent seen you in here for awhile hope all is well
Yes very nice soundstage for my bp3000tl's being sideways they sound fantastic
Well now I have decided against selling the Trinity that sub is unbelievable but im just starting to use the Trinity and just not used to a sealed sub verses my ported SVS's.
James all is well, I still lurk around (always learning) one of these days gotta make it out your way a get a demo of that awesome system (hmmm still think you owe me a beer if I recall Ha-Ha) glad your keeping the trinity (your neighbors must hate you as much as mine). Really impressed with what you've done in that small space with all those towers.

I have a small den where I am setting up my HT system this weekend. The den is 17' by 14', brick wall and fireplace on the right, partial wall and open on the left.

Samsung 64" plasma is going on the wall

Pioneer Vsx1120k
Tivo xl
xbox 360
Samsung BD player

Def Tech Bp3000tls up front and Bp2002s on the side rears.

I'm going to face both sets of speakers subwoofers in. 3000tls connected to LFE. 2002s just connected by wire and against the walls, 18" out from the back corners pointing forward.
I know I need an amp. I've been thinking of the Emotiva XPA-5

So, what do you guys think? cool.gif

Cool, I can't wait to set it up! I really like the value of Emotiva's line, so I would suggest the XPR-5. 400watts x 5

Would there be a significant difference between pro monitor 800 and 1000? What about the studio monitor 45 and the pro 800 considering that the studio monitors r cheaper? I plan on using these for the fronts in a 13x14 room for movies only

I would get the SM45, it's bigger, but sounds better to me smile.gif

Having heard the 45's myself I'd agree...wink.gif...there a nice speaker
post #27923 of 29303
Well My Pro Monitor 1000's came in today(I bought them elsewhere than my 8060 package). Hooked them up to L/R at the moment since I have no speakers. I am really hoping my 8060 package comes in tomm. At this point it's like c'mon already! Anyway the 1000's have nice sound and put out more bass than expected. I was going to mount them as front high speakers but they are solid and deceivingly heavy. I might get a couple of stands and use them as wides. I have an Onkyo TX-NR609, 100 watts/channel. It's 7.2 and the extra two channels from the old school 5.1 are assignable as back surrounds or front high. Does anybody know if they can be used as front wides instead of front high? Won't the Audessy EQ locate them?

But would it mate well with the center 1000 Since this speaker is redesigned?
Oh, I don't want to mount because I don't own the place. Don't want to put some seriously holes in the walls. I would get pro mounts if so.

Ah, it will work, but won't match. Probably better off with the PM1000 unless you can replace your center.

Would having 3 pm1000 up front be better than having the procenter 1000?

Never heard a PC1000, but 3 PM1000 might be better, depending on your mounting locations, etc. The PC1000 isn't as tall.

Lots of people on the forums love the Emotiva amps and your speakers are very sensitive. The xpa5 should be more than enough. I use a sunfire tga 7401 that does 400 watts/channel x 7. I noticed a big positive difference in sound when I upgraded to separates. Now I am wondering how much more I can get out of the bp7000s by bi-amping the front left and right speakers for 800 watts each using the sunfire. That would be unlimited headroom! I also saw the new 1000 watts emotiva mono block amps online. That would also be a fun ride! I just can't justify those potential upgrades before my seating and projector. Especially when 400 watts per channel is already way more than enough power.

By the way....glad to see you are keeping the trinity! It must shake the entire house!

Just curious but I had to make some changes to my wiring for aesthetic reasons and was wondering if using this small plug in usb surge protector is good enough for the BP 8020 ST?

Belkin-Outlet-Surge-Protector-USB

Before I had it plugged into a CyberPower Tower UPS with my other electronics. But now the speaker is by itself and has to be plugged into the outlet on its own, so I can't use a tower there for aesthetic reasons. I am always worried that if I don't plug it into some sort of surge protector that something could happen.

Thanks,
