Sorry - no experience with the Reference.

rkrjr34,

What size is your room?? I think the SuperCube Refeence is awesome but in a smaller room its overkill. If anything a pair 7002s and CLR2500 with a SCII or SCI would be perfect for medium sized rooms. I would place the SCII behind the listening position To give the additive impact you look for in music and movies.

Once I am finished, my Subwoofer will be a 500w RMS 12in (see my signature) this was an easy and fun way to add impact to my existing system.

I'm sure the reference would be overkill for my room. It's 12x15 roughly and acoustically treated. I was mainly considering the reference model to have more then I need for when the time comes and I'm able to get into a larger room. Which probably won't be too far down the road. I'm running out of upgrade cards with the better half. Already did upgrade from Optoma H31 to Sony Ruby this year and HD-DVD. The SCI is probably just right or maybe even too much as it is. The SCII may be better if I do the rear placement idea. There is no space behind my seats for a woofer, as I have my seats back at farthest position for maximum viewing distance for my screen. I could place it next to my rear seating in the corner though. Just really love nice deep tight sounding bass that will fill the room and give you a jolt!

Hi there,
Do you know where I might be able to get an owner's manual for BP10s? I bought a pair last night and I know that you can take the sock off and I'm looking to replace them but I can't seem to figure out how to get those jokers off.

rlhjr34, I am not using the super cube. I actually have a Sunfire as well! But I am replacing it soon with another sub. it will not be Def Tech, only becuase I don't get the same "deals" I use to. Running cables is esay to do. I highly recom. the rear sub.

Mythos 3 for my center.
Pair of Mythos 1 for my fronts.
2 pairs of GEMS for my surrounds.
VA Subson for my Sub
AVR4306 for my Receiver

Got everything this morning. I ended up buying the Gem stands. So that the speakers and glass stand match. Now I got a half a day to connect them and play with the settings. This is the 1st sub I've owned. I've been reading here about crossover, but don't really understand it. Hope the manual is written well.

Arkimedia did you have a chance to take pic of your system to post?

Mythos 4 L/R
Mythos 3 C
UIW BP/A Surrounds
Supercube I

The BP/As are mounted in a cathedral ceiling just above the tops of the walls slightly behind the listening position. They sound great. The room really requires in walls, but I listened to the Gems at Magnolia AV and liked the BP/As better.

Just a quick speaker connection question for you experts, could not get an answer within the Denon 3806 Receiver forum

My front speakers are 7002's with built in subs, as well as, the center channel (model ??). Currently, my bass shakers are plugged into the sw jack of the "pre out" jacks on the Denon 3806 receivers.
I have run sub woofer cables (LFE) from the 2 fronts and center channel (LFE's) and not excatly sure where to connect to the receiver? Is it as easy as plugging them into their correct position within the "pre out" jacks of the receiver...LF, RF and C located next to the sw jack?

Just a little unsure since there is only 1 sw jack on the receiver. Wanted to connect them correctly so I can achieve the best sound for my grankids watching DVD's.

Thanks - Sorry for the dumb question!!

I have def tech 2002's which is an older version of what you have. If you can send full range frequencies to your mains from your denon, there is no NEED to run seperate lfe or subwoofer outs to your mains/center. I do not have shakers but I have a seperate svs sub. I have the svs connected to my sub output and 12 ga speaker cables to my mains and center. I have my mains and center set to "large." My yamaha sends lf to my mains, center and sub. If you feel the need to run seperate connections to your mains and center, you would have to split the sub rca out on your denon 4 ways. One to each main, one to center and one to shakers. Or, if your denon hase pre amp outputs you could use thm to the full range inputs on your mains and center.

I'm really interested in the mythos six speakers. I live in the chicagoland area. Does anyone know where can I listen to them and purchase them for a descent price in the Chicagoland area? Best buy, Tweeter and CC do no carry them...
I believe magnolia which is inside some bb's carries them.

"Minus the sub"? Those have built-in supercube subs, which are awesome!
i know they have built in subs. im just saying i didnt buy a sub. i found the feet that came with the center but they dont want to fully go in the hole. also does anyone have any suggestions about bi-wiring. do i just connect the 4 wires from the speaker to the same connection on my reciever? or should i just not do it. my reciever is a yamaha rxv650.
I tried bi wiring mine and didnt notice any difference. Just use good qality12 ga wire and you should be fine.
i picked up some 12g acoustic research pro speaker wire. i already bi wired the center today. i gotta wiat for the towers to come in before i try out the speakers though.

In addition to the BB Magnolias that someone else mentioed, you also may want to try Abt. They carry Definitive and they are usually willing to negotiate a bit.

Or I'll just get the sub and be spioled and owe them a rediculous amount of money

Thats what I do with Ultimate but my Better half said that I have to stop after I got the Mytho 3's I think we owe them around 10,000 now and only have about a year with no interest.

If I chose this approach, should I leave the speakers set to large or change to small?
Thanks

Do you mean CLR2002? I used to have one, nice center channel. I installed the feet on mine, I had to use a hammer to drive the brass inserts all the way in.

I bought a used CLR2000 and it needed a new sock, I didn't bother using the feet this time. The feet rip holes in the sock and are kind of hard to get out if you want to remove them.

On a different note, I just bought a 3 year old Outlaw 7100 7 channel amp and am using my denon avr as a pre amp/processor now. Having more power makes for a really nice improvement with my CLR2000, BP10's and BP 1.2X's.

If you are runnung cables from the sub pre out, set to small. If you use the full range from pre amp out, set to large.

Can I ask what percent under MSPR you got the bp7004 abd bp 7002 for? I'm interested in buying them at BB but figure I can get a better deal elsewhere. Can anyone recommend any internet site with a good price on these?

Also, I will be putting these speakers in a noke where my TV is located and wondered if it would take away from the sound.

cherrypik,

If you absoluteley have to place the towers in a recessed area, reconsider your choice and go for either the CLR2500 or if possible CLR3000 for the left and right channels. Placing bipolar speakers ina half encapsulated area will defeat their purpose.

i just went through my yamahas auto setup and it made these settings.

center was put as a large center.
surrounds were put as small speakers.
towers were put as small. ( is this right? they are larger speakers. should i change them to large?)

again my setup is this
bp7004 towers
clr2002 center
bp1.2x rears
yamaha sub
I'm betting the Yamaha Sub isn't too killer, if you have your subs in your Towers pluged in, I would test setting your mains to Large so they can get that full lowend and see how it treats you, best way to find out is to experiment yourself.
