I am thinking of buying the DefTech 8060 Towers & Center with the SR-8040's for the surround. I am a bit confused as to what receiver I should use. Currently I have the following options
2. Denon X4000
3. Pioneer Elite SC-71
I am not an audiophile but someone who loves good sound. My home theater system is for 40% Movies/40% Music/20% PS3 games. I have demoed the Yamaha's & the Pioneer models mentioned above. But I can't really make much of a difference between them. Currently I am not really looking at the zoning options as I am only setting up the speaker system in one room. I have heard great reviews of the Audyssey on the Denon's but at the same time heard negative reviews of the Denon line up, and how they tend to heat up. Do anyone of you have this configurations and can give me some advice as to which receiver would be a better option?
As a Pioneer fan, I have to recommend the Pioneer! I have the sc-1222k, which has the D3 amplification, and love its sound! MCACC does a decent job of auto setup, but I think Audyssey does a better job on full auto. If you spend some time tweaking, IMO MCACC squeaks out. I looked at a few Yamahas before the Pioneer, and it was REAL close for me, but the Pioneer went on sale and won.
