So i did it, ordered yesterday

The system will be run on a Denon 3805 receiver

I now just need to find a sub for around 800, i am considering the axiom 350 or the svs pb12

I've pretty much decided on a Mythos system (pair fours, three center, supercube II or III plus either UIW BP/A or UIW BP/A surrounds). The room is approx. 17' by 20' with a vaulted ceiling. I was going to mount the in-walls in the angled panel of the ceiling facing the rear of the listening position. Anyone ever hear a similar setup ?. Is this enough speaker for the room size ? I'll be driving it with a 100 watt Denon receiver.

Also, without naming sources or actual prices, what discount, if any can I typically expect ?

I had BP10s and BP-2s, with CLR1000, I agree with you completelly.

I use the Denon AVR 3805 receiver. I have been using the set up for about 2 years now. Love both the receiver and speakers.

If you set you receiver's processor to large for all front speakers, set to sub NO, and connect speaker wire to them, LFE will automatically be routed to the subs.

I tried it that way for about a year, but found that it sounds much better in the highs and mids especially. if I set all speakers to small, sub YES and run a LFE cable to each front speaker.

Try it both ways and see what sounds best for you.

Hard for me to picture which way the vault runs in the room, so it's hard to say if the location is good. However, I have used those speakers in many installs for sorrounds and they work very well. I use them in my Bedroom for front L and R speakers on either side of a plasma, and the dialog always seems to be coming form dead center even withiout a center speaker.

Does anyone here normally run the main speakr wires from the sub or from their receiver?

so say I also want to use the Supercube along with these built in subs, would setting that sub to NO disable that supercube subwoofer or would it just do that for the mains/center? I would like to use ALL of those built in subs, so how would that work?

I tried that set up also yesterday.I believe it sounded much smoother and less boomy with the fronts set to "small" and "sub out-yes".I had to adjust the sub level on the back of each tower.They are set at about 1:30.I also have the powered subs facing out.

Would this be too much..

I bought the Mythos 5 towers for my system, I sit about 8 feet away from the mains right now in this setup. I have the chance to upgrade to the larger mythos one towers which house the 5 1/4's woofers instead of the 3 1/2 that my mythos 5 house

My question is ..is this too much speaker for this distance? Would I be better staying withe the 5's instead of upgrading to the 1's?

hey guys, im a recent huge def tech fan and im in the process of swapping my klipsch system for all def tech. im waiting for my order of def tech 7002s to come in from magnolia. any tips on proper placement for these speakers. ive never owned a bipole tower.i've read that with bipoles its important to get placement right. This is all for my bedroom system , so its a mid size room. should speakers be angled into the listening area? any proper distance apart?
any tips are greatly appreciated. thanks

I have 7002's and man you will not be disapointed. You should avoid like the plague corners I could not so its not perfect. The 7002's should be any where bwtween 7 inches and 20 inches fromn the wall to have proper bounce back because they are bipolar. Enjoy the system. Did you buy a supercube sub as well? I have a SCII and man its awesome!J.H.

Nevermind I read you have the SCI and man thats powerful. You put together a pretty powerful system enjoy. J.H.

I agree with J.H.- try to avoid corners. Keep them at least 6" from the rear wall, toed in. Set your pre/pro to "large" and play with the sub level.

Good advice Bartman. We are old definitive fans. How are yours treating you? Mine sound absolutely incredible with Parasound separates driving them. J.H.

Got my Mythos last night installed with my new Pioneer VSX-72TXV. I do not have my SVS PB12 yet so its hard to tell. Its a great sound right now but the Pioneer recgonized the mains as small which was odd. they are mythos 5 towers.

The speakers sound great but I do not feel any impact from the sound which may be the lack of midrange, I am wondering if i should go ahead with my upgrade to mythos ones which will give a 2" bigger speakre set and maybe provide more mid bass

You need a dedicated sub and I would definitely go with Mythos 1's. J.H.

Well your SVS will shake ur couch. I have the ones and they are set to small, b/c the SVS does a great job filling everything in, at my set-up. When your system is complete and tuned. play w/ your setting. it took me more then a day to get it close to what i want.

If your more of a music guy, LARGE might be better, but the put ur sub settings to "PLUS" to get the SVS shaking.

PLUS => Just sends the signal to the sub as if tower was set on small.

B/C when set to LARGE the mids and lows are not sent to the sub. Thus PLUS sends it to both.

another question, i see that the def techs are pretty efficient speakers with a high sensitivity. will my elite 74txvi be enough to push these speakers or should i look at amps? my klipsch towers worked perfect with it but they have a higher sen.

I would look for a dedicated amp with some nice power. I am looking at getting a new amp to replace my Parasound amp. Try Parasound,Adcom or what i just started looking at ATI. They look pretty sweet. J.H.
