To bad someone can't make a box that converts HDMI to DVI and Component outs
that would work....
That's why I just won't be buying one for quite awhile. I was rather looking forward to HD movies, but I refuse to spend thousands of dollars to get a new HDTV with the required connections-my HDTV works fine but just lacks the new connections. The format war is rather turning me off to the whole thing as well.
Someone probably will make one of those boxes. It wouldn't be legal in the US (DMCA BS), but they'll probably be made.
I think most people would buy discs even if there was no DRM or other restrictions on them. Most people don't really want to steal or otherwise break the law and are willing to pay reasonable prices. I know I'm like that. Unfortunately, I'm given the choice of spending multiple thousands of dollars to watch an HD movie, break the law go around copy protection, or just not watch HD movies. I'll likely choose to not watch.
