I got my CMT-340 LCR with stands and set them up, ran MCACC and had some fun last night.
The only thing i could even find to critique about these speakers was the wooden bracket that holds the speakers on the stands....it makes me nervous. Anyone have any creative bracing ideas?
Now to the good stuff. I played Miles Davis' "Kind of Blue" and it blew my mind. The realness and authenticity of the sounds coming out of the speakers was astounding. I have been excited, yet a bit skeptical of just HOW different the Ascends would be, but i had no idea what i wasn't getting with my other set-up. Keep in mind, this review is coming from someone who does not know a lot about the technical aspect of how or why it sounds the way it does, but i do know a lot about what i like, and i am so pleased with how real the Ascends make everything sound. I had to turn the volume of my game down, b/c i kept jumping every time a bullet would fly by. It was like they were actually flying by my head. The other thing i really admire about these speakers, is that they were made by people who genuinely care about their product. I appreciate so much Dave, and the whole team at Ascend. Your making a great product guys, and so many people happy because of it.
Now all i need is my ED A3-250 to come in and i will be set!
