actually I think the jump does indeed go from 100 to 150, others have asked about this before wrt Take Classics and Pioneers.
No, that is not the crossover rating, that is the upper limit where the subwoofer is "flat" in output but it's not like it hits a wall and stops there. It will still have plenty of output up there and it is simply a better sub than the other options.
The thing to realize with tiny sats is that, regardless of what sub you use, there is going to be a "hole" in the mid-bass response. All things being equal, the better sub will be better! So get the better sub
