well they send me a email please help here this is the email

How warranty swaps normally happen, we will get those shipped back to Energy and send you off a new pair but since it was damaged in shipping, I have to talk to them tomorrow, I actually have a meeting with Klipsch in the morning so will discuss it with them at that point on the best way to proceed. I can offer you a discount, I am loosing money at the price I sold them to you at but to make it easy and if you are cool with the condition, I can give you $200 back for the damage. You will still have the full warranty with the speakers.

they sold me the speakers for 1,200 pair and with the $200 discount that's 1,000 for the pair.the two dings are really small and are in the back of the enclosure what you guys think return or a $200 discount?

Some of us were saying earlier that no matter how small the damage, the resale value (if you ever decided to sell) would be a lot lower. $200 isn't seriously lower, but in the end it's up to you. See what the others have to say too.

I could never ever stand for this. I am waaaay to anal about keeping my stuff in good condition. If I damage it, it's one thing and I deserve it. If they arrived like this, that's another and is unacceptable. I wouldn't even accept a discount because you know down the road, however unlikely it may be and you want to sell these off, you will have a hard time unless you practically give em away. I would send em back for sure.

This is also making me extremely nervous about buying RC-70's from Vann's. I know if I get a pair and there are any nicks or gouges I will be really heartbroken. When I purchased my RC-30's from a guy on here I was terribly nervous but they arrived in pristine condition and I was so pleased.

Excuse me if I missed it but were these Veritas purchased from Vann's? Does Vann's have a habit of of packing things well or adding extra packaging to ensure safety?

No way, these weren't purchased from Vanns. And yes, Vanns does very well packaging their merchandise. They have double boxed most speakers (and all towers) that I've purchased from them. Their return policy is nice too, if it's damaged they'll take responsibility for it.

they are from http://www.soundearphones.com/

thanks guys I really appreciate the help here, I will consider every single advice.I will contact then again for a better discount or replacement.

Awesome news! I just wish they'd get the dam speakers in already. Money is sitting in my bank just ready to leave, it wants to go home... go to your home, why don't you just go to your home... what, your too good for your home

+1, when paying good money for quality product, accepting anything less than what you expected is not acceptable (for me anyway). Reminds me when our new stainless fridge was delivered, didnt notice until after they drove off that there were multiple dimple dents in the two doors. They offered a decent discount but I insisted on replacement. So truck came back and swapped just the doors. Now they've gotten twice the dents from my boys in the last 2 years... but that's our fault and part of use.

Obviously people have different thresholds for what they can tolerate, and a price that would help them look past some damage... but man, those are too beautiful of a speaker to see come right out of the box damaged!

Unfortunately, I bought the lcr and rc-10s from vann's. I spoke to a csr recently who said I could return the lcr for a credit. Would the rc-10s work well as back surrounds with the veritas line?

I would imagine they would work great.

H I had 30s that I moved to surround duty when I got my 70s. You do have to raise them up quite a bit, I put mine on cement blocks for them to be stable. I actually didnt like the 30s for surrounds, I much prefer 10s. I had the 10s on some taller adjustable stands. One thing I did try was putting LCRs on the same stands for surrounds, they sounded the best, but were kinda big for my liking. I went back to 10s for surrounds...just my experience anyways. I have a few sets of 10s and RCRs, I only have a 5.1 set up now and I actually refer the 10s over the RCRs. One of these days I will get around to hooking all the speakers up for a 9.1 set up.

Im really sorry top hear about all the Veritas damage. For $200 off damaged speakers wouldnt sit well with me. Every time I looked at them it would bug me. Maybe if you got them for half price, the damage would be something that you could live with...maybe. Id rather have prestine speakers.
There was a guy on here trying to sell some shipping damaged speakers, I never said anything because I didnt want to hurt his feelings. I guess Im too anal also, Id just rather have undamaged speakers...for me to be swayed the deal would have to be pretty friggin awesome. The $200 discount will soon wear off and you will be kicking yourself. You are getting the Veritas for the superior finish, you might as well just wait and get 70s.

So I unboxed my V6.3s and they are absolutely gorgeous... and HUGE holy crap my fiance was like umm I try to make this house look pretty and then you go and make it look like a bachelor pad again hahaha. The rosenut finish is absolutely gorgeous and my speakers appear to be undamaged. Just ran Audyssey and going to play a little music before bed. Any recommendations for break in Calgary?

I hope your RC-70's arrive safe and sound dude! From Vann's you have a pretty good chance, as long as they are functional before they get boxed.

I don't know about Calgary, but I say toss some Classical or Jazz in there. Maybe some piano music or even better, some Spanish guitar I know my RC speakers are just crystal clear and heavenly when playing those things

From what others have said on here, the RC-LCR works really good with the Veritas, and it maybe even considered by some to be a better centre channel than the Veritas V5.2. The RC-10's for surrounds should be fine, especially if the setup is mostly for movies. I would definitely try it out to see how everything sounds, these prices are amazing right now.

I left my ipad in the car and am too lazy to go get it as I'm falling asleep typing this haha. Something is definitely off about LCR though. Ever since Thursday night football when I had that wierd popping sound coming through the feed and I disconnected the hdmi cable from my receiver my center channel sounds like it is further away than it is and I can now tell the sound is coming from it. I also am noticing harsh S's now where I didn't before. I reran audyssey when my 6.3s arrived but now I'm concerned about my LCR...

That $200 is on top of the steep discounts. If I didn't have to pay any shipping, I would choose to send them back, but if it did cost me anything for shipping I would consider taking the offer. A pair of Veritas 6.3 for $1000 is really good, I don't think they will be available used for that price, anytime too soon, as long as Energy is kept alive. The Veritas will hold their value much better than the RC-70's in my upinion.

If you can, try hooking the RC-LCR up to another amp.
Congrats on the safe arrival of your new Veritas!
I wish I was getting new Veritas speakers delivered to me!

Just leave them playing as long as you can, even at low levels overnight and moderate while at work. I remember they sounded good right out of the box, then not so good 8 hrs in and took several days until they stopped changing and sounded wonderful. Just remember to re run audyssey after they are broken in. Break in is just the process of the drivers loosening up and everything seating correctly. The sound will change over this period until they reach the point of sounding how they are supposed to be.

It's very interesting to hear you say you preferred the RC-10's over the RC-30's for surrounds. I would think the extra mid-range in the RC-30's would actually add some dimension to the surround effects that perhaps the RC-10's miss.

I need to raise the RC-30's up almost exactly 13in to get the tweeters where the RC-10's are now. I wish I had solid wooden blocks for this as it would be ideal. I'll figure something out. First I need to to get the RC-70's in hand otherwise this isn't going to happen.

Then I'll need to find some kind of cheapish type amp to hook up my RC-10 to my computer... that'll be another adventure

Oh yeah. It's too bad his new Jack and Jill movie is getting such bad reviews. Have you seen Grandmas Boy? If not, you really should. Some funny stuff in there.

Haven't seen it, I suppose I'll be grabbing this on. Maybe I'll wait for the RC-70's

I got some bricks that measure 15 3/8, X 7.5 X 5.5" from a building supply store. They cost me $1.58 each. Other heights were available to me, but I only wanted a few inches.

When Blockbuster went under in Canada (from no fault of their own) this was the first movie that I went straight for. I knew there would only be one or two copies and I wanted it!

Yeah, maybe I'll get some bricks for this and cover the bricks with a black cloth so it doesn't look so ugly.

Lens Mill stores are where I always go for stuff like that plus mine are behind couches so nobody can really see them anyways. Just make sure the speakers can't slide easily. You should be fine but just monitor them for the first little while.
Also, the brick can add to the "industrial" look of the RC series. JK

Just saw these reports about damaged 6.3s...both sets of 6.3s (black at first but returned for rosenut) I ordered from Vanns were in perfect condition. I wouldn't hesitate to order them from Vanns if you are considering it. Just wanted to ensure people that this is most likely an isolated issue and not across the board...or maybe just an angry UPS delivery man who has to carry these beasts!
Hey scotsomuni did you ever get a chance to do a A/B test between your RC-LCR and your V5.2c as I think you are the only one to own them both at the same time. I think everyone would like to hear your opinion of the sound differences.
