I want a Cherry LCR to go with my RC-30's....put it on sale now now now! damn you FS and energy!
Would you guys want the center to match the towers? Or is it just a matter of preference? For example, would cherry RC-30's look good with a cherry center or black center when everything else you have is black? (except the hardwood floors that match the 30's) Thanks!
um, how could it be anything BUT preference? surely there can be no objective reason to match or not match your speakers!

but on an aesthetic note.... I would definitely want to match UNLESS the center was going to be placed in a cabinet or something. For example, in Bobcel's setup he has rosenut RC-50's, but his center channel is placed very high up in a wall unit so there's no need for it to match. But in a setup like jack's (last page), where the console and all the furniture is dark wood, the rosenut obviously was the right choice as a black center would look funny.

If you have an entertainment console that is all-black, and the RC-LCR is going in there, then it would look fine having a black unit. Cherry would definitely clash with an all-black look. It just depends how in-the-open the center channel will be.

So, in conclusion: ask your wife.

No No, don't go there! it will grow on her... Like BPig said, my RC-LCR is black and does not match my 50's finish. Fortunately in my setup it is not an issue. Got an incredible deal on it, so black it is. Although I would have preferred a matching rosenut one. Anyone want to trade??

thanks guys! like the wife says, "if you want to buy your center speaker, you better also buy me a gucci purse" I guess it's a win win situation, new center and a happy wife lol

Better be careful some of those bags cost a small fortune and that won't leave you with any money for your speakers. Just get her one of those knockoffs.

Yea. A happy wife is a happy life. No truer words ever spoken.

four words are the key to a happy marriage:

"whatever you want, baby/dear/honey/etc"

I thank the flying spaghetti monster everyday that my wife has zero interest in stupid fancy purses and ridiculous jewelery.

Hi again all.
Received my rosenut RC Minis today (I sprung for $40 for next day delivery ).
Got 'em installed and gave them a quick check out using the 3D DSP mode on the Yamaha receiver. They sound VERY nice. The Omnisats are excellent sats (I'm a long time fan of Mirage products), but of course the Minis blend better with the RC-70's.
Anyone looking for a pair, Amazon still shows 2 left.

Don't use the FSM's name in vain! I am still ticked off at the lack of religious holidays, just look, not a single one!

Does anyone know if Energy is keeping the RC line and making the new Connesiuer line the budget series
post #4125 of 47751
Anybody out there have a pair of satelites from an older Take 5 or Take 2 system laying around that they want to part with? I just replaced a very old Denon 5.1 A/V receiver with a new Onkyo TX-SR706 7.1 A/V receiver and need a second pair of speakers for my rear surrounds. My current speaker setup is a L/C/R from a Take 5 system, a 10.2 10" sub and a pair of EFX speakers for my surrounds. I am in the San Diego area. Please PM or E-mail me if you have what I am looking for.

Thanks, Jeff

apparently, when Klipsch took over Energy they couldn't afford those nice offices anymore and so they had to rent the old, abandoned, run-down warehouse where "Reservoir Dogs" was filmed to use for photo shoots. Looking at those photos, I feel like a zombie will burst through the wall at any moment. Apparently Energy speakers should be enjoyed in dark, dank, industrial environments... maybe my room is too well-lit, and that's why there's no hot chicks in short skirts making out with me next to my RC's....

I do like the look of the new "Connoissuer" C-series models though.

Maybe they will have a sale on them again for those who wanted the RC-30 in Rosenut.

Don't be fool by the price the RC-50 price is for one, so price for pair is 2X. Look carefully at the bottom of the spec. But still good only $50 more than RC-30.

I have a pair of 13 yr old (or around there) C-8's, does anyone know how they would compare to the RC series? Lot's of nice bass with the C-8's although I do find them to be a tad trebly also.

With the rosenut's being discontinued maybe it's time I sprang for 'em, but not if they aren't an upgrade over the C-8's which are still working fine.
Just a quick heads up to everybody on the Energy thread. I have a *PERFECT* condition Energy RC-LCR in black for sale. I ordered a full 7.1 setup in Rosenut, but the Center was out of stock, so I bought a Black RC-LCR until the Rosenut RC-LCR came in stock. Speaker has at most 100 hours on it.

Speaker has absolutely no cosmetic/physical flaws and comes in original box, original packaging, with all hardware. Speaker is essentially new. PM if interested. Thanks!

I realize that, but on the FS website RC-30 is $749 each. The RC-50 is $399 each. So for 2 RC-30 it is $1500, for 2 RC-50 it is $800. Hence why I said the RC-30s are almost double the price of the RC-50s.
wow... FS made a colossal mistake... I called them for a PM on my RC-50s from a while ago, and they must have mistakenly given my a PM on themselves... I received $448 back from them... So what it looks like they did was PM the RC-50s to the $399 price (single speaker)... So my pair of RC-50 cost $399....

I'll give you $400.
Wow, that FS price for the RC-50s are amazing. I was just about to go for three RC-LCRs, ala Joseph, for the fronts but do you guys think it's better to go with the 50s instead?
I just noticed my join date. Wow, lurking here for four years and that was my first post.

Their S10.3s are only 399 as well. Pretty exciting time to be in the market for speakers.

The Soho look. I suppose the subwoofer was supposed to have cracked the concrete with its overwhelming bass.

This is meant to appeal to young apartment dwellers in upscale city neighborhoods. (Sorry South, Midwest and SoCal, strip mall cities need not apply). A good demographic, WAF chic, not relevant to a nation of McMansions and strip malls, but who cares.
