Does the new Veritas line incorporate any of the old "Veritas technology?" Also, is the new Veritas relatively flat compared to the RC-70? I don't have a measurement but I recall the RC-70s having a mid-bass hump.

1) No, the new Veritas does NOT employ any of the old Veritas technology. It's based on RC driver technology, although they did borrow the Energy patented "Convergent Source Module" branding of the way the mid-range and tweeter are housed together in a separate chamber from the woofers.

2) The Veritas is probably a bit flatter through the mid-bass but it has a definitive rise in the treble, whereas the RC's were pretty flat all the way up from 2kHz or so.

hello guys, i have energy take classic 5, anybody know where i can buy a stand for the center speaker? so that instead of laying it down the table it will elevate a little bit with the stand? thanks.

honestly, you aren't going to find a true "speaker stand" for a tiny thing like the Take Classic center, certainly not anything that is just meant to raise it up a tiny bit. I recommend just fashioning something yourself, or use some rubber bumpers to elevate it slightly. Shouldn't be that hard for something that small -- how much do you want to elevate it?

oh, i see. thanks. that is what i thought so. maybe that is a good idea to look for something fashion style.its just like 120 degrees upwards. anyway thanks for giving me an idea sir.

if you just want to angle it up a bit, you can use bigger rubber bumpers in the front than in the back. If you go to a hardware store I'm sure you can find some beefy rubber bumpers for the front and then some little ones for the back....

I actually use a pair of rubber doorstops to angle up my RC-LCR center -- I put the doorstops up front and have little bumpers in the back.

I just picked up another pair of RC-Rs off of eBay for $418. Is that a good deal. I pick up my first pair for $250 off of Craigslist. This completes my 11 channel setup. 4 RC 70s, RC-LCR, pair of RC 10s all new in box and two pairs of RC-Rs in excellent condition. I spent $1900 on all the speakers, can't believe I was able to get this type of quality setup for those prices. The only thing left is to close escrow, so that I can set it up. I appreciate everyone's feedback, which is why i went with this setup

Lol!!!!!!!!! I've seen a few of those too. In your video I was looking at the finish of the veritas when I noticed a guy with a camera and pink socks running across the room smile.gif. j/k. Let us know how the sub sounds with the rc and the veritas. I'm 100% positive you're gonna be in heaven with the sound.

Can you mount it at all? I drove people here crazy because I used to hang my Take Classics on a push pin. They're light enough to do that, but now I have small screws for mine. Just saying, if you can't find any stands, mounting with a long screw and tilting the screw would allow you to aim it up or down if you put if above TV, etc.

The CF-30s match well with the CC-10 and the Takes. I had a 7.1 height setup in the past that consisted of CF-30 fronts, CC-10 center, and Take surrounds and heights.

Although I have to say the CF-30 is a weak little thing compared to the CF-70. So if you have to "settle" for CF-70s because you can't find the 30s, don't worry.

the only reason i want a stand for the center because i dont want to mount the center speaker, and i thought about that too and i changed my mind, i know i saw somebody with the stand with his energy center but i didnt pay attention to it and now i couldn't find that post frown.gif

Crap.....i thought I send this to you earlier, but then just saw that I must not have hit submit......

I use a couple of these under the front end of my centers to angle them up a little bit.

They have many different rubber feet you can choose from and they are very inexpensive.....grab a couple different types and sizes to see what works best.

what sub you getting Lo?

wow my veritas 10 inch sub is great took a few days to get it set up right...

with the music on the video not sure you need a sub.. im into the blues.. taj mahal is one of my favs great sound.. coming out of my veritas 2.1 system ..

but i think my 6.3s are not working right... there are too loud when i turn it up... at -5 db on the denon 3313 the house is just shaking..

anybody know how loud that is? i find about -12db is really great sounding in my house... awesome sound i would recommend the v s10 sub..
with your 6.3 and rc 70


you ever play both in movies using one as wides?

Hi Batpig.. ho ho ho merry christmas....

is -5 db on the denon loud? i cant believe how loud these veritas are at home...

to the good tunes i like em around -16 to -12db area.. lots of vibration happening at that level.. i guess i like to feel the blues as

well...

I'm hoping my patience will pay off.
I should be picking up a pair of Energy speakers tomorrow that I will compare to the 1.8s. If all goes well with the sale, I will be able to give a detailed personal recommendation of the abilities of the 2 out of 3 titans of this speaker company. Old school quality goodness. Fingers are crossed.

Is there another center speaker comparable to the c-c100 that I could buy? I currently have a c-c50 and just upgraded my sub. The center is the last thing I'm looking for right now.
