That's only $76 each! You could easily sell a coupla those and pick up a center. Don't know if those are still on sale. I've got a coupla RC-Mini's. They really are dynamite speakers if you can get a sub to cover the bass. Work great as surrounds or rears. Really a quality speaker for the price!

I will be using this on my bed room with a Energy ESW-V8 that I have.

I already own a 7.1 veritas v with a power sound audio xs30 duall 15" drivers.

I used to own a 7.1 RC set up but sold it.

I Like the extra detail in sound that the veritas have ,plus their beautiful finish.

that's it for me no need more speakers smile.gif I guess biggrin.gif

Yeah I think he was talking about E. Spalding, who is indeed from Portland according to Wikipedia biggrin.gif

Whaaa? You got an XS30? Wow smile.gif How do you like it? Somebody in the SVS thread returned his PB12-NSD and bought an XV15 and he seems ecstatic.

That's what I thought until I got my Veritas V2.3's yesterday. I've got 21 Energy speakers and 4 Energy subs now but for music it's just gonna be those two Veritas in stereo. They seem to do just fine without a sub. They are front ported so I don't need to plug them and they are rated to 35Hz so they seem to be doing great on their own. I played the DSOTM last night and they had no problem with the heartbeats at the beginning. Also, I heard things in Led Zeppelin's music that I'd never heard before! Sonic Valhalla! I've got all their stuff on Vinyl, CD, and the newer remasters and I swear I'm hearing things that were hidden in the mush before. I remember years ago comparing the C-100's to the RC-10's and talking about wanting to reach in there and oil Bonham's squeeky kick pedal in "Since I've Been Loving You". With most speakers you can hear it if someone points it out. With the RC's you could actually pinpoint exactly where they were in the soundfield. Now it's more like "how the hell could the engineer let such an obnoxious sqeeking get onto an album"! The 12 string on "Stairway to Heaven" is WAY out of tune. And worst of all, no longer is there any doubt that Paige was using a screechy Tele instead of a smooth Les Paul, but now I'm thinking he could have used some newer strings! Just so much detail and seperation. I've brought up Andreas Vollenweider's music before as wonderfull on the RC's but now I'm finally hearing what I've been missing since I bought his first CD along with my first CD player. The crunchy footsteps in "Caverna Magica" are right there in the room!

So those of you with the newer Energy lines...good choice. Some of the best values in years. If you crave detail and clarity to the point of questioning the choices of the people that produced the recordings, you owe it to yourselves to track down some of these puppies.

I bought my wife the new Adele 21 CD for Valentines Day. Gonna play it for her on the new speakers. If she notices that they're new and wants to know how much they were, then we'll be heading to Macy's tomorrow so she can pick out her Valentines gift. It will be whatever I paid for the speakers, and it will be totally worth it!

Maybe I should make a pre-emptive strike and get them to leave the retail price tag on some diamonds! Now THAT would be impressive. She wanted Princess Cut Diamond Earrings once. $800 later she said "They're too small"! We then took them back and she got a BBQ. With wives you never know. What if I'd bought her the BBQ for Valentines Day?!?!? On our 10th Anniversary I learned tin was the traditional gift so I made her a heart out of aluminum foil. BUT...since I had just sold the family business on the same day and therefore was unemployed I was cut some slack, but never again!

I never would have gotten the Veritas speakers if I hadn't won them for just $511 and she prolly will never notice them. When I met her I had 18 speakers hooked up in my Living Room and some of them had HUGE 15 inch woofers with horns that I used in my P.A. system for my band. All of which I still have in the basement. In fact, I had one 18 inch Stromberg-Carlson Voice-of-the-Theater-type Cabinet in there now that I think of it! So no, she prolly won't notice these scawny little Veritas towers!

BTW: I'm re-arranging the entire room right now, trying to make them "blend in" better. Wish me luck!

If you are re-arranging the room, you already blew it. Women notice when things move around in a room. You are already caught :evil laugh:

True. True. But I really want to keep the Veritas V2.3's for stereo and the RC-70's/LCR for 11.2 so I've a lot of moving, and 'esplainin', to do!

How about free speakers for all of us since you already have pretty much all of them? biggrin.gif

I am not sure if a manufacturer is allowed to enter a thread without being invited by the forum's thread's members.

I hereby invite Energy to join with us in discussion about Energy brand speakers!

Would be nice if they came by and discussed with us.

BTW: I hope everybody is having a nice Valentines Day. I really do. My wife is working from 6:30AM to 11:30PM today (even worse than that Led Zep song), so we're postponing ours. I think my daughter's two boyfrinds heard about each other because they've been buying her hi-dolla crap for two weeks! Anyhoo...don't miss this chance to let those you love know how you feel. And take care!

I'm interested to hear your thoughts too. I'm looking to make a sub upgrade from my PL-200 and PSA seems very interesting. I'm going back and forth between digging in and learning about DIY or going with a $700-$1,000 offering from HSU, SVS, Rythmik or PSA.

I def have been, just ordered 2 and will hopefully leave work early and go pick them up at the store. No idea what I will do with my C-6's I am currently using as my fronts, but no way I am missing the deal on these this time!

Now I just have to find a matching RC-LCR. Anyone have a lead on one in black ash?
Damn, two really good sales going on right now. I just bought a 7.1 RC micro setup and now I'm debating on the veritas 5.0, should I sell the RC micro bundle and use that money to get the veritas or is it not worth the hassle? I am also trying to justify the need for the Rc 70s but i already have 4 still new in boxfor an 11.2 setup no other room in the house for them,if you need some jump on this deal.

Absolutely. This is about as good a sale as you'll get. These are the top of the line towers in the RC line.

The center is the RC-LCR which is still available, but goes for about 4-500 now. Just to give an example of how good a sale this is.

Thanks man!

This has got to be the last of the stock, and the price is insane. Just ordered a pair without giving it a second thought. I have a pair from Vann's with banged up corners, so it'll be nice to get (hopefully) clean ones.

But now I gotta think of what to do. I have a lot of speakers now, and I'm only running 5.1 in a small room.

4 RC70
2 RC50
2 RC10
2 RCR
1 RCLCR
1 Take Classic 5.0 still boxed up
wow $300 each that's a gift.

plus free shipping thats insane.

OMG. very expensive. center speaker alone it will cost you 500. what about for the rear for this? can i use my takes classic for the rear?

You guys are killing me. So I have been running 3 RC-LCR's for L/C/R and RC-10's as surrounds. I also had a pair of RC-30's just sitting in the closet. I decided to ditch the energy's because I wanted to try something else. Last weekend I sold RC-30's/RC-LCR/RC-10's. That leaves me with 2 RC-LCR's.

Now I see the deal at Fry's eek.gif and I snapped and ordered a pair. Oh well, that will put good use to one of the LCR's. Now I want my 10's back.mad.gif
post #44157 of 51473
What was retail on the RC-70's, $1100 or so?

I think there will be a lot of demand for that left over LCR you have, so you shouldn't have any problem at all selling it.

That's awesome! Your patience has (hopefully) paid off! I'll be interested in what you have to say about them vs the RC-10s you are currently using. I'm thinking you'll be very happy with the upgrade. I know I was. I went from the 10s to 50s and it was a nice jump in SQ. I then went to a pair of 70s and the improvement from the 50s to the 70s wasn't as dramatic, but the 70s have better midrange and are better speakers for 2 channel music vs the 50s, IMO.
