My RC-70's are out for delivery. Should be around lunch-time. I will definitely inspect out-of-the-box before the UPS person leaves....Nervous but pumped. Darrin_R - Glad your 70's are coming around and are the real deal! Still amazed at the price....

Are you sure about this? Can anybody please confirm this? I need a replacement for my speaker stand.

The review doesn't seem to indicate that they are "cheap" knockoffs. Definitely seems more likely they are the same speaker.

Energy describes the Take Classic as having a "patented Convergent Source Module (CSM) 3-inch poly-titanium woofer and .75-inch hyperbolic aluminum-dome tweeter." If Monoprice is still selling them in a few months, good bet is that Audiovox has licensed them to Monoprice.

Great to hear.....i just ordered a bunch of those from amazon and still waiting for their arrival. I have been using the monoprice closed screw type and I like them, but I needed to spend some money on amazon to get the free super saver shipping.....so I picked up a pack of the sewell's. I like the idea of having plastic around them incase the accidentally touch which the monoprice ones dont have, and the sewells appear to be shorter too which is always a bonus.

The cons

The Veritas V tweeter doesn't play as low as the RC tweeter.
The RC tweeter doesn't play as high like the veritas.

The pros on the Veritas V tweeters is the amount of detail that it can offer over the RC, but do not produce the same lower frequencies like the RC tweeter.

The pros on the RC tweeter is the ability to play lower frequencies over the Veritas V tweeter, but it lacks on the detail that the Veritas V produce.

hope this help a littlebit smile.gif

Remember that both speaker offer great sound.

This is something that you wont notice unless you play then together.

Im pretty sure that Both Veritas V and RC owners will be happy with their purchase.

Thanks for the coomment, i have three V-5.2-C as my fronstage and i really like the detail it offers me. Now with the crazy RC-70s dal at Frys i wonder if i should have waited to get two RC-70s instead of the V-5.2-C and just use the V-5.2C ad my CC speaker. But i can't complain i really like the Veritas, and anyway for my listening space tower speakers would have been too mu:pch for me and my wife.

So you reckon that with a very good sub (i'm still using my sub that came with the Take Fives) the Veritas would get a better overall sound? on the low frequencies that maybe the tweeter is not getting as wel as the RC series would?

You don't have a warranty issue with Energy. You have a shipping damage claim with Frys, which you should have already called them and reported the damage. You will then work with Fry's to work out a credit. Some vendors will work direct with Energy to get you a replacement base for you. Most likely scenario now though is that you will have to just use a credit from Frys to call and order a replacement from Energy directly... Call Energy and get a replacement price for the base with shipping and use that to negotiate with Frys.....

If you have the funds to pick up the RC-70's do it! You can use your other V5.2c's for surrounds. That would be an awesome setup!

I think that Energy will cover the damaged stand, I'm just worried about down the road warranty issues like a driver going bad.

I just called frys the guy documented my claim regarding the damaged speaker base stand. And he said hes gonna subit my claim as soon as the claim department open today. Hopefully everything works well.

Fry's no longer ships the speakers. They are available only in store now. Glad I ordered mine last night.

That was my post on Facebook. Figured it wouldn't hurt to put a bug in their ear that everyone here is pretty damn excited about the Fry's sale. I haven't seen so much activity on this thread in a long time.

Wasn't knocking your setup Darrin. Very clean and sharp. Same front three as a lot of us on here. What do you use for surrounds?

That means I missed the boat. Would have loved another pair to use as front wides. Anyone here use a combo of 70's for FR, FL, and wides with an LCR?

I just checked and it looks they are sold out at the store in Renton, WA.

I remember API designing great Athena, Energy and Mirage speakers in Canada, not much left of any of those lines. Happy to see people getting good speakers at a low price but things don't look good for the future of the brand. Klipsch started the process and it looks like Audiovox will finish it. Hope they prove me wrong and bring back API quality speakers.

Good night.smile.gif

A well designed speaker is all that matters. Not whether it is 3 way or 2.5 way or 2 way imho

I agree on that.

But in this particular brand and some other brands that offer 2.5 and 3 way, you can tell that their intentions is that ,I was a owner of Rc-50 for a year then decide to upgrade to the Rc-70 and the difference is obvious ,it is cleaner in the vocal range ,the pronunciations are easier to understand.

I am using the 70's for front and front wides along with my rc-r's for side surrounds. Really like the 4 rc-70's up front, compared to using 70's left right and rc-10's for heights.

RC70's arrived UPS a few minutes ago....Good news and bad news....One of the boxes the UPS driver wasn't even going take out of the truck. He said it was bad. I went to the truck and felt where the box was torn apart and it felt smooth on the edge. He forced me to sign it before I could open the box though. Driver had a bad day - someone backed into him earlier....Anyway. Opened it up and it was fine. No damage. The second box was in great shape but had one small rip. I felt in there and there was a small dent on the corner of the wood....Go figure....I can wood putty and paint it and it's on the back part - less than an inch total area and in about 1/8th of an inch. I am ready to start the music (break-in)! Never had a speaker of this caliber! I can live with the little bit of damage. Hope they work!!

So, i got two extra V-5.2-C tweeters on the mail today. The first one that i got two weeks ago to replace my dented tweter i got it from Energy (Klipsch now owned by Audiovox i believe) and now i got two from WWStereo, which i don't need. If anyone's interested in them PM.

They have some at the Wilsonville, Oregon store, 97070. You could do an in store pickup. Maybe a road trip is in your future? wink.gif

That's odd, they told you they didn't have any stock. That's where I picked mine up after ordering online Friday morning. Maybe they just didn't get many in...

That could be or an employee not knowing.

I ordered my RC-70's from Fry's last night and they haven't shipped yet...also last night Fry's website was really weird and it showed that they only had 64 speakers total. So maybe they will cancel mine and I hope they don't, since they are out of stock now. If they do cancel what speaker do you guys think the Mini-Veritas compare to? Would you say the Energy mini veritas are in the same league as the Pioneer BS-22's despite their small size.
Fry's doesn't charge your card until you actually pick them up, so add them to your cart for in-store pickup. You will get an email within 20 minutes confirming that they have them in-stock and an order number. Then you can call and verify that information. Just a heads up to those who want to try.

He is from Panama I don't recommend it ,if you see how weak the Styrofoam of this speakers is I will think 100 times to get this to Panama.when I bough mines I receive 3 times the speakers with dents I personally don't accept a dented speaker so it was a return for me.

Yeah, that's one of the reasons i decided to pass on this one. if i had the problems i did with the dented tweeter in one of my V-5.2-C i don't want to think onn a dented cabinet on the towers. I couldn't send it back.
Looks like WWStereo sold out of the V6.2's they had. I'm thankful though, the option to get those had me thinking about turning away my RC-70's that should be here today.

It would have been nice to have the V6.2's to go with my five other V5.2C's but I think the RC-70's will blend well enough and sound better for stereo listening.

I hope the RC-70's show up in one piece. They better cause Fry's charged me extra to have them shipped here to Hawaii.

Fry's is authorized because Energy is under the Klipsch umbrella and Fry's is an authorized Klipsch dealer. Same with the Jamo speakers Fry's sells.

I got my RC LCR from Woot which probably isn't authorized or has a limited warranty. Not really worried though because no chance of me blowing out my speakers.

Its hard to turn down deals like these rc-70's especially if you can enhance your system you already have. Enjoy, you now have one rockin setup.
