RC 50/70 base is $45.80 in Canada. Probably cheaper here if they have it in stock.

Ok, got one speaker delivered - has a slight dent on the back edge though the box appeared to be in a very good shape. Funny thing, they delivered one speaker at my leasing office and the second one went back to UPS for second delivery attempt tomorrow smile.gif

I Just found out they also own Jensen, which is listed alongside Hello Kitty.

What the hell happened to Jensen? Hey, I'm a Jensen and I used to brag on Jensen speakers in my old tweed Fender amps. Utter crap now.

i called energy but they are closed already 5PM EST, maybe i will try it again tomorrow. if it is $45 for the base, i think i will tell frys to give me more than $50 so that it will cover anything including shipping. and yes, my speakers speakers are all good. only the back part of the base are cracked. i think there is no way i could touch it by glue or wodden glue something like that. il post a picture later on so that you guys can tell me if how bad is it. and i will keep that part number too to tell them that is what i need.

^^^^ afrogt is right it should be cheaper than 45, I call not too long ago about a RC tweeter and the price that shows on that page is twice the price.

OK AfroGT. I just made my 300th post but you are obviously trying to beat batpig to 21,000. Lottsaluck with that!

I really hope we can get somebody from Energy on this forum to help with the fears of warranty and part availablity. Even a clue!

well the energy RC-70 online sale is no longer available but the veritas v mini sale still available and they have plenty of then but the coupon code wont last longer.

I have one package of this and I have been using then for 2 days.

I'm not gonna try to catch batpig or jdsmoothie. Those guys are icons. Plus when all these Energy RC speakers are all gone this thread will slow down.

Baseball season will be starting soon which means more time watching my World Champion Giants. Plus Daylight Savings is March 10 and I'll be able to golf after work. I slow down a lot during the spring and summer.

What are my options for a center channel to matchup with RC-70? I think the RC-LCR is out due to cost and size. I am interested in a decending list of viable options.

1) RC-LCR
2) V5.2C
3) RC-10
etc.

Secondly, how much of a compromise is using a 4.1 set up where there is no center? I am a 2-channel guy....thinking about building a home theatre set up around the new RC-70 speakers that were delivered today.

You can also unscrew it and turn it around if it's on the front. What I would do is make sure they're available from Energy and get a price with shipping. Then have Fry's reimburse you for that cost, plus a little extra for pain and suffering wink.gif

Exactly why I brought this up. I'm thinking that ths forum should be the clearing house for all of the questions about replacement parts and availability, unless somebody else steps up.

Not to scare you, but if one was delivered and the other wasn't, there's a good chance it might be damaged. Sometimes the driver will sheet it up as damaged and bring it back. One time (okay, several times) I'd have something that you could tell was busted. Loose stuff moving, broken glass etc. When I bring it back to the center, they'll open it up and check. If it's good, they retape it and send it out again the next day. If it's banged up, I think they send it to claims but I'm not sure.

Speakers arrived, both boxes mangled, One speaker has a chipped 1" section, another is without any damage. Have to drive to fry's now to exchange it. UPS ppl suck, boxes clearly say FRAGILE, but they dont give a damn. very disappointed!
Update: just came back from Fry's, initially they gave me all the BS that frys.com and fry stores are 2 different companies, have nothing to do with each other, I asked to speak with the manager, who's decent enuf to allow teh exchange, but checked his inventory, and all they and the whole TX have are the demos. So i guess I'll live the minor dent, its on back side near teh bottom anyway.
To Reiterate whay others have and will experience: FRYS is the shittiest place to buy anything I somehow like BB suddenly:rolleyes:
Overall great deal, I can live with the dent, will call frys, see if they can give some refund!

please call frys, thats what i did. and they said they will give me a refund, if you want to keep the speaker.and they want to see the damage. call them now and complain.

i guess i don't understand the( i don't give a $hit attitude) these parcel carriers have. they are very well compensated through a very well organized collective bargaining agreement, and yet toss/throw place hvy objects on fragile boxes etc. in fact i'm willing to bet they love seeing the words fragile,handle with care this side up etc. it seems to be an industry wide problem. come on guys can you respect other peoples hard earned money for once. geez...

Guess it depends from person to person, I have had some really great experience with few delivery folks and then there are those who don't give a damn! very similar to people in other professions too - I have had some major issues with dentists who treat patients like machines and bang up real bad and then there are those who make an effort to handle things delicately or at least make you feel that way smile.gif
