Anyone want to venture what RC-Rs will sell for in 13 more months.

$350-$500 or so, same as they always have.

Used speakers do NOT appreciate. Sorry. Your analogies to classic computers or guitars are not relevant. If it were, true classics like the original Veritas would sell for $10k. But instead they sell for a fraction of original price.

If you're so confident of your assessment of market demand, why not try putting them up as a no reserve auction and see what the market says? wink.gif

I remember when ebay first came out. My buddy told me a story he read or saw. A guy was selling his soul on ebay. He would ship it in like an empty mason jar. He would sell as many empty mason jars as people would buy. A reporter asked him how he could keep selling his soul over and over like that. He responded that his soul regenerates. LOL. I think I heard that ebay stopped allowing him to sell his soul on ebay.

In other news I am thinking about buying an old Sega Genesis along with NHL '94 and '96 and possibly a few other games. I just started looking into it. Not sure if I will pull the trigger anytime soon, but when I do I guess I'll use ebay. But I'm sure I'll shop around.

Well based on my new understanding of how ebay works, if I were you I would
try to sell my Energy Veritas Series V-Mini/Mini Bookshelf Speaker (1 pair) V-mini V-5.1 V-mini-C V-5.2-C V-6.2 V-6.3 for probably about US $1,150.00

hahaha Wasn't me, but that is funny. I guess when you ask for outrageous cash for something, people can offer outrageous in response, albeit on the other end of the scale. Maybe if you offer a somewhat more reasonable price you'll be able to get a bite.

Amen. We're talking about car sales, yet a car salesman would never put a $15,000 car on the lot with a $35,000 price tag in the window and expect it to sell. Car salesman get by getting people to pay extra, not double. So you could jack someone for the shipping price, but not shipping AND double the MSRP.

On top of that, we're not talking about a huge market to begin with. How many people do you know who actually have heard of Energy as a brand? At least most people know cars out of necessity.

Not too many options left to voice match the RC-70s, I also see a pair of RC10s for 400. Last I checked those were 99-120 for several weeks at Vanns when available. VS surrounds would be priced higher as well. Btw, how many VS surrounds do you see for sale on ebay in recent months???

Thats right, not too many.

RC-10's never sold for $100 a pair at Vann's.

Someone else can correct me, but the lowest I ever recall seeing was a deal of the day for $200.
There will be shipping costs if you sell them used too. Unless you are able to find a local buyer. But I still think you probably get the most money back by taking the easy route and just returning them.

Thats right, not too many.

RC-10's were never 99.00 or even 120.00 new at vanns for a pair. Maybe a pair that was returned due to shipping damage

Both the RC-10s and the RC-Rs retailed for $600/pair at msrp. If you can't see the difference between selling them now for $400/pr vs $1150/pr.....

Look man, you are free to do what you want but don't expect your weak justifications and analogies to used car salesmen to win you any sympathy or support on this forum, where there is a spirit of camaraderie and people take pleasure in helping each other out with fair deals in addition to good advice. I can't believe you have the stones to try and justify your behavior here when everyone knows (and you freely admit) that you bought them from other folks on this forum for a fraction of the price.

If you are looking for a pat on the back for your craven attempt to profiteer then you will probably find more like minded brethren at Slickdeals or the like.
Well it depends is it free shipping and are they new? I just sold a pair with around 25 to 30 hours usage on them for $375.00 free shipping included. Only difference is they were sent to Canada and the shipping was $104.75 . He felt he got a good deal since no one wants to ship north of the boarder. I felt ok with the deal since after taking out that shipping price then the paypal fee of $14.00. I ended up not losing money and actually made $36.00 from the $220.00 I originaly paid for them. I got to help a fellow AVS Member out and I got to unload a great pair of speakers without loosing money on them.

In your case it seems a little different you want to make a boat load of money off a pair of speakers you paid $300,00 free shipping that I helped you broker, or you are selling the pair you paid $500.00 for from zzdog and still want to make a boat load of money off. Hey you can do what ever you want but dont come in here and try to ******** us save that for the sucker you probally wont even find on ebay.

THere is nothing wrong with wanting to make a little money, its how the world works but to sit here and try over and over to justify it to us is pure ignorance. rolleyes.gif

On happier, less awkward terms, I got the s10.2 tonight. Hooked it up and have tried a few parts of movies and a few songs. Not much yet.

As far as first impressions go, I have to say I was a TAD disappointed as far as clarity. My Outlaw is definitely cleaner sounding, but doesn't hit as hard or as low as the s10.2 does. That being said, I do enjoy the frequencies I am able to hear in my system.

I am going to purchase a y-adapter and 35 foot sub cable to make it possible to have both subs in my system at once, and will use my Outlaw to hit most of the mid-bass, and let the s10.2 hit the lowest.

I will post more tomorrow when I can crank it a bit more since it is getting late and don't want to interrupt the neighbors. I'm excited.

I think it's because the guy we were poking fun at for overpricing his RC-Rs left.... meaning off the forum. So I think his deleted profile deleted his posts.
Now I feel kind of bad.
I wouldnt feel to bad. It would be one thing if the guy just said hey I know these are way overpriced but maybe someone from ebay will pay. Instead
he kept trying to sell us on it

If I tried to really sell my RC-R's I wouldnt ask for more than 400.00 free shipping included. And I would mention that one of the mids in one of the cabinets sounds just a tad lower than the other one.
No one would probally even notice but I did. They sound good but it wouldnt sit right with me not to mention it or even charge alot for them. Hey they are speakers and when we all bought our speakers we wanted a deal on them, so whhen its time to get rid of them give another guy a shot at what he may feel is a good deal. KARMA MAN pass it on.

I was expecting him to just give up and leave the thread, not delete his profile and leave the entire forum.

The new Veritas was demo'ed at shows with Cambridge amplification. I think the laid back sound of the Cambridge was supposed to be a good match for the edgier sound of the new Veritas. Not sure if Energy (Klipsch) tested with the same, or what any of the classic lines were tested with.

That is a bit odd unless he realy felt like having his post on here could hurt his chances of selling the speakers

Let's just get back to talking Energy speakers/subwoofers, please.

My daughter is watching her kiddie movies with the new sub (Energy s10.2). She sat on it for a while, because I think she liked the way it rumbled. It is a lot bigger than I thought it would be.
Ok dude any bites on the rare RC-R's. Do you really think there worth what you are asking and also do you really think someone will pay anything close to what your asking?

Never seen the s10.2, does it look just like the s10.3 with the controls in the front?

Yeah except the controls are lower than the woofer and the woofer doesn't have the ribbed elliptical surround (bumps) on it. The ports (2) are on the front as well.

Here is are good pictures:

That is different, did you get a good price on it?
Don't know, really don't care. If they sell they sell. If they don't I will do something eventually with them.

If you mean the kind bids of $5, $25,$35, that been taken care of. Ive had two conversations in the $350 range, One asked me if he could call me outside of ebay , I guess he thought I would accept 350 without fees or something. Not in any hurry to sell them.

Although, more of the jokester offers help the listing, Pretty large traffic going on too, so keep them coming , it just brings more attention in my past experiences at auctions.
