Yes I lost a bid on a sr7002 on ebay ,is really hard to win a bid when someone maybe is using a automatic bid even on the very last second the bid goes thru lol.
Keep trying, I'm sure you'll get a good deal on a Marantz, sooner or later.
I've been suffering from tinnitus since mid December. It's been extremely frustrating. I'm seeing a specialist in June and hopefully I'll get some answers as I believe mines been caused by the many respiratory infections I've had this year. I hope everyone suffering from this is able to get some relief from it soon.
I have had mine for a little 3 years, with no relief in site from doctors. From my understanding there is no cure for tinitus. Some have it worse than others.
Mine doesnt seem as bad as it was the 1st full year I had it. There were times when it just felt like a bee hive was in my head it was so load. Maybe I am
just getting used to it sort of block it out. Kind of like when you have a fridge or something that always is making some kind of humming noise, sooner or later you learn to
tune it out unless its really load. Mine 1st started one day while I was watching television, out of nowhere I heard this load ringing. Kind of like those old emergency broadcast signals that used to pop up on your television screens back in the day.Hopefully you will have better luck with your doctor than most due.
I'm in the tinnitus club too... Mostly left ear though, very high pitched... I forget it most of the time but whenever I wonder if it's there, it is. It also blocks other high frequency sounds, leading to some hearing loss.

Same here with the high pitched ringing. It's very much like a sword singing in the Blade movies. I would very much like to have my club membership revoked!

I learned really fast after I got that Tinitus not to do any running, boy that will set it off real fast.

I've had tinnitus in the form of a high pitched tone for at least 15 years. A little over a year ago, I started hearing clicking on top of that, intermittently in either ear. A few months ago, I started hearing a low frequency, rapid thumping noise in my right ear. I consulted a doctor and found out all three are forms of tinnitus. Go figure. I never knew tinnitus was so varied in sounds and even causes. My hearing is not bad considering my job and age, but I seem to be losing a narrow band right at the frequency of my wife's voice!

I know what you mean by that clicking, that will happen to me if I have to run, like after one of my dogs chasing something out here in the woods. For some reason the mind great unril their chase drive kicks in. There is also another syptem where when you talk its like you can hear yourself talk inside your head and sound is very magnified. That wont make sence to most unless you have experienced it. Its weird and painfull.
there is also another symptom that I believe is supposed to be linked to Tinitus. Diizzy spells and white outs that come after a heavy session of the ringing. I know a number
of Veterans that suffer from this. It can leave you flat out and unable to move much for days. Also very sick from the dizzyness symptoms.
+ 1 on that. There is something that has been known to help some people. They put you in this machine that has a lot of different pitch noise and the they move the chair your sitting in to different angles.
From my understanding there is a little crystal inside the ear that this machine is trying to get back in place. It works for some. It didnt work for me but it worked for 2 of my Aunts a long time ago.
I am new to this forum and until I started doing some research I was pretty sold on purchasing the Energy Take Classic 5.1 system for use in my family room. When I went to purchase today online I noticed that the Energy RC Micro speakers were being sold at the same price. I have ready numerous threads today regarding which of these two systems are better (not sure I really have a good answer as to what is better for my needs). Upon reading further it sounds like the V Mini's and the RC mini's might be a better purchase for a bit more money. I am hoping someone can help steer me in the right direction. I am putting these in a family room that is approx. 20x15 with 12ft ceilings. They will be paired with a 60" Samsung 3D TV and a Onkyo TXNR616 receiver. I am looking for something that can be mounted on the walls in the front and rear. They will be used for movies and music (50/50 mix) with a decent amount of regular HD TV watching. Looking to stay at or around $600 for a 5.1 (glossy black) system. Your input and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I had the equivalent (RC mini's) from the RC line in the same sized room. My use was also similar; they did a great job in that space. You should use a good sub to support them, the low end is less represented on these than the larger ones, it will make the most difference in support.
Are the V-minis still available? I looked briefly and it appears that they are out of stock and not available online.
The V-mini center is still available. You can get 3 for $284.64 (from WWSTEREO.COM using the promotion code: SDVMINI at checkout). Using 3 of those across the front would be awesome. I was going to suggest getting 3 of those and a subwoofer and then adding surrounds later (or used through craigslist). Which brings me to my next question: what Craigslist do you use?
^^^ Reason I ask is sometimes when the budget is tight, you can find speaker components cheaper used to help stretch your budget. For example you might buy the speakers full price but find a subwoofer someone is practically giving away. Or the other way around. You find speakers someone is selling so you have more for a subwoofer. Edited by Macstatic - 3/17/13 at 10:09am
I would use the Detroit, Mich craigslist. I see that WW Stereo has the V-mini 5.0 system in black on Ebay for $599.99. seems a little high based on some of the threads that I have seen on here. Is the V-mini's the way to go over the Take Classic? I am a little concerned over the size difference but if they are that much better it is probably worth it. What would a good sub be to match with the v-mini's?
Rsmith115 hey I bough 2 mini package 5.0 package rosenut a friend told me to buy one and hold it till he get the money but now his wife not approve the purchase so I'm stock with a 5.0 package sealed I can return then but this is 2 boxes and I have to paid the shipping for each box to return.if interested let me know.
That's a pretty good price for 3 V-mini centers $284 and 5% cash back too. Does the v-mini center also have a magnetic badge for veritcal horizontal orientation like the RC-LCR?
Macstatic, i just reread your reply and realize that you can use the V-mini as a left, right, and center. I am assuming it can be mounted horizontally and vertically in order to do this. If I went this route would it be best to just use a pair of RC micro's or Take Classic as the surround speakers in the rear?

They are definitely going to be bigger. Not a huge difference in size, but in weight, yes. The centers don't come with mounts (I don't think) so you'd have to ask those here that mount their center channel speakers what to do with that. My Take Classics that I use as surrounds in a 7.1 setup are light enough for a single screw to hold up. The Takes are great as surrounds, but they would be a little "thin" sounding as main speakers for music and movies.

Rsmith115, also, losservatore could probably sell you that 5.0 pack for a good price. The benefits of that are it comes with a V-mini Center and 4 bookshelf speakers that match but come with mounts and are probably going to be less awkward to hang. The only downside is it is not going to be black, they are a dark brown color (rosenut). Quite beautiful but if you are doing it to match decor around the house and it won't match, then maybe not. But still I'd check them out.
i have 2 v minis black NIB 2 weeks of use less than 20 hours on it. as i upgraded for a bigger surrounds.
That is another option. Getting a center from WWStereo and these two would provide you with a frontstage that matches. Having matching speakers from the same manufacturer and series is important, for the front 3 speakers especially.
Another option would be getting the 3 V-mini centers and then these two for surrounds. Just throwing ideas out there.

It sounds like I have many options now,
- V- mini's all around (5.0 system)
- (3) V-mini centers with either v-mini as the rears or the take classics
I am a little concerned with the v-mini's as rears since where I am mounting them in the rear the room opens up to the kitchen and they will stick out quite a bit further. Of the above which is the better option? Is my receiver ok for these speakers (Onkyo TXNR616)? Appreciate all the feedback. Batpig, I am going to send a message on the sub. If not available what other options do I have?
