That sounds good if I can just hang it like that. I know some say comes with bracket and others do not. Wasn't sure if I needed anything or not.

The CB-5s would be better audio wise. They are a little bigger than the SAT's and they would be a perfect match to the fronts. But I dont think you would notice too much difference since they are only for surrounds.

Thank you for replying also kgallerie.

Granted in your situation, you will hooking it up in reverse... you are not distributing sound to additional speakers, but distributing a pair of speakers to additional receivers!

So your "Input" connection will be to your RC-70s and "Output 1" will be to your HK and "Output 2" will be to your home theater receiver. Just be sure to only have only one switch option active at a time....

Maybe someone else could chime in on this question?

Granted, there is no reason that a single receiver would not be able to give you great performance for both scenarios... Many receivers also have separate sound parameter options that you can tweak just for 2 channel performance also.... A much better way to go in my opinion...

edit: after doing a little reading, its not recommended to use a speaker selector in reverse. If you hit the wrong button(s), your amps will be trying to drive each other and could lead to some catastrophic results.

There are amp selector switches that are meant for this. Do a google search and see what you find.

Hank and I had a discussion about this when I wanted to pick up a Pioneer SX-1080 (vintage receiver) to power my RC-50s with my HT AVR as well. Several people advised against it.

Just find a Harmon receiver with 7.1 capabilities and then switch to STEREO mode when you want to play 2.1 music.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone.

That's what I thought I had seen (or heard) regarding speaker switches in reverse, doesn't sound like a risk that's worth taking.

Does anyone here run HK HT receivers, or are there other recommendations on a powerful HT receiver that can drive a set of RC-70's in the manner they deserve? We're probably talking $500 or less for the moment. I'm more concerned with overall sound and clean power than with frills like Airplay. I'm not above refurbs, either...have owned many and had no issues with any of them.

I also have to say that it's because of the great information within this thread (also because of some reviews, particularly this one) that I took a chance on the RC-70's to begin with. They were a little out of my price range, but when the deal on Fry's came up, I knew this was a pair of speakers worth more than the offering price. I'm so glad I pulled the trigger. The sound on these after ~50hrs break-in already exceeds anything I've ever owned by a long shot, and I'm still breaking them in for another 50.

So thanks to everyone who's provided so much info here. It's an incredible resource. I've consulted AVS so many times over the years, it feels good to finally join in the discussion.

Does anyone know where I can mounts for my RC-10's? i'm seeking the mounts that were specifically made for them. The ones that would screw right into the slot at the back. If anyone can provide a link or has spare, please let me know.

I see that too, can anyone confirm this?
What's to confirm? It's not like it says "in stock". Do you want to confirm that they have a phone number that works? tongue.gif

There are a couple of piano black V5.2's on ebay if anyone is looking for that color.

Vanns does that once in awhile to get people to call in. Doesnt mean they are expecting it to arrive anytime soon, or at all.
yeah, I think you right, every thing is listed as call for...., smart, giving out false hope
post #46125 of 51438
Sometimes they will even bring back an item that has been off their site and put it on their site again but it will say out of stock.

Enjoying them too much. I was listening to music thru them earlier today and was almost late to work. Completely lost track of time.

I know the feeling. I went to jasonmichaelh's house to listen to his 1.8s and was so mesmerized that I missed my wife calling my phone several times AND was super late picking her up from the store... She was stranded for an hour longer than we planned...with groceries. Needless to say I wanted to run back (after getting my hearing back once I stopped getting screamed at) and fill my ears with the sound of the 1.8s again wink.gif

Now they show up! Hehe i ended up using my existing am10 mounts with the thread on the rc-10s, involving a 4x5" piece of 3/4" black birch. Works perfect and looks good cool.gif

Why don't you just build a small shelf for each speaker if those mounts recommended don't work?

Are you planning to mount these speakers vertically or horizontally?

I have tried a few different mounts that i bought last night and so far no luck (going to try a few more things today but don't want to modify mounts to make them work). I am considering sending back the centers and buying a couple of satellites that will be easier to mount as left and rights. Does anyone know where I can find a pair of v-mini bookshelf's? If not I have a little more room than I thought for the fronts and may be wiling to upgrade a bit. What is the next step up from the v-mini's that aren't twice the size? I would like to stick with the take classics that I have for the rears since they fit the rear of the room well. I also have purchased a SVS PB1000 that I will be pairing with the fronts.
