okay got the boom stand and mic mount, I did two setups it sounds awsome, but still want to run the setup when everyone is sleeping, they help with the setup but there was still very minimal noise not sure if that will affect.

That would be a beter deal for $50!

There's already a bid on it so it will go for more than $50. But even at $100 it's a good deal.

Those A5+2s may end up being a steal for someone.

Actually I believe it is an entirely different series. The XL just refers to it is stage-2 of the ES-12. That is the series I told you has the ES-18 XL that is the only 18 inch Energy sub.

As long as you don't get an excessive noise error it's fine. One of the reasons Audyssey repeats the chirps several times is to get a better signal to noise ratio, so transient noises like somebody shuffling around the room shouldn't negatively impact the EQ filters.

Bat pig, if you don't have a incredibly high paying job, you should open up a audio setup service. Your knowledge of all things audio never ceases to amaze.

except you'd have to fly 3000 miles to get it or pay a bit for shipping. The s12 is 50lb plus whatever packaging you'll need.

I think I have found a used S-10.3. Supposed to be in pretty good condition.

Out of my area, but the guy is shipping it. Decided to go through PayPal.

He was very nice allowing me to pay half when it ships, the other half upon inspection.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

Batpig has been a tremendous help to me regarding my Denon receivers, advice on speakers, and most recently with subwoofers. Members like Batpig is what makes this forum so great. Willing to share is knowledge freely, without asking for anything in return.

Thank you once again Batpig.

very nice option.

just rememeber the canadian ones have a blue led on the front. The made in china versions, will eventually burn out, I have a spare LED pigtail when energy sent me two, the second one already burned out again, however the sub on the right side of the room, is on its original. Energy claims the 5th on the issue, but it exists none the less. I might try soldering a different led to it or sticking a resistor in the path.

Whether the led works or not is not an issue for me. As long as the sub works well is all that matters.

Any more impressions and opinions on the Mordaunts? Have you tried them for music in a stereo setup?

They look really nice so I was curious about your opinions......

That subwoofer is probably a dozen years old and may not be a good value. If you want to talk about subwoofers other than Energy subs, the place to get that is the AVS subwoofer forum. That's where all the subwoofer enthusiasts hang out and where it would be on topic to ask such questions. Afterall, you don't go to the Honda car dealership to get advice about Yamaha motorcycles, right? smile.gif

looking for some blunt honest feedback, currently running 4x rc-10, 1x rc-lcr, and 1x 10.3 - its a small living room, I would take a estimate and say its about 300 SQ ft.

Would it be worth it to upgrade to a pair of rc-30's since its almost impossible to find a pair of rc-50/70's? Or should I just keep everything the way it is for the size of the room.

it would be use about 80/20 movies/music.

I always like the RC-30 I used to have then and they definitely will improve the sound to me they sound better than the bookshelf.

how much are you paying for the RC-30?
I would say.....Absolutely!

I have the RC-30's and RC-10's and there really is no comparison. I would get the 30's for the fronts, and move the RC-10's to rears for a 7 channel setup. Or you could sell the RC-10's to offset some of the cost of the 30's.

But whether or not getting the 30's is worth the cost of the upgrade, only you can answer that depending on your finances.

Where do you live? Some Fry's stores still have RC-70's in stock.
By all means the RC-30's would be an upgrade for music as well

30s vs 10s on their own is one thing, but with the bass crossed over to your sub I think you'll be disappointed if you expect to hear a big difference. People have even reported that 70s run as small with a sub don't sound that different from 10s. But the 30s will give you the option of using them w/o the sub for music if you want to.
