I can't imagine any of us fielding questions about "Energy Power Bars". Besides, what's gonna happen when somebody tries to google THAT!

The "Energy Power Bars" google-thing made me lol; that's pretty darn funny. smile.gif

Sadly, you are right -- all our products are headed towards "vintage" status. It was an awesome run though. I can't decide if I'd rather see Energy 'end' with the newer veritas & RC-70's, or continue with their 'newer' direction...but with the odd chance that they might circle back one day.
Like a good athlete -- I think I'd rather see them retire at / near their prime. wink.gif
Unless they can 'return' -- energy needs some "HGH", so to speak. wink.gifwink.gif

Not an Energy owner yet. But getting close.

Testing out speakers for a new dedicated theater rom.

To start things off the Denon 2113 that I bought was DOA, right channel was all messed up. Grabbed an open box Pioneer SC-61s for $600 and everything is working like a charm. We'll see if I keep that, it was actually the one they used for demos, so not really open box.

First listen, I think I like the Energy CB-10 (though I'd upgrade to the CB-20) over the Klipsch. The tower had more bass, but overall sound was just nicer on the Energy. But again it was a quick test, one song...I'll test it, and the Pioneer, more tonight with a movie running. That'll be the real test.

update: a few run throughs of the opening of Cars (hey, it's what I had). The Klipsch are definitely some nice towers, the Energy hold their own and the Pioneer really sounded nice too...definitely didn't sound like a $150 pair of speakers.

Of course the question is will I notice a big difference ongoing with the Klipsch (running $600 for the pair) over the Energy ($300) or Pioneer ($200). Of course I'll be adding subwoofer, center and side surrounds too.

Anyway, thought I'd chime in here to give you an idea of how my ears see them stacking up.

My LCR consisted of CB-20s and a CC-10 for almost two years at our last house where our family room and WAF precluded having towers. Today, I've been breaking in a pair of CF-50's for a soon to be completed dedicated home theater room in our new place with the intention of using the CB-20's as rear surrounds. If you like the neutral, relaxed sound of the CB-20 and are already contemplating spending more on the Klipsch towers you should consider stepping up to a CF tower. Retailers/Energy are heavily discounting the connoisseur line as its being phased out and you can get a great deal. For the price of a decent pair of stands for the CB-20's you could move up to a pair of CF-30s... and a little more (still less than the Klipsh) you could get CF-50s. Having heard both, the additional detail, wider sound stage, and more natural bass of the CF-50s is worth the premium over CB-20s.

I haven't advertised yet but I do have the extra set of RC70's and dual S10.3 subs. All in great shape. Very good prices (Fry's like deal prices), which got me started on this journey...East coast in PA and will meet 1/2 way within reason.

I will probably start advertising in July after an upcoming vacation. Wanted to give the opportunity to someone here first. I got a great deal and traveled a bit to get these at a good price, and will do the same.

PM if anyone wants more details.

Thanks!

I'm very interested in the S10.3's being that mine got smoke damaged along with the rest of my equipment. PM sent! Does anyone know how much it generally costs for a company to clean smoke damaged electronics? Five of my 7 Polk Moniter's survived and still work as well as my receiver as my S10.3 sub but I just don't know if it's even worth it, especially being that the Moniter's can just be replaced cheaply. I tried calling a few places and most will only deal with insurance and for reasons beyond my control I can't go that route.

thanks, i did check those out and it's not a bad deal but I'm really hung up on the finish of the veritas line. I know the RC's and the veritas sound fairly similar but the veritas look stunning imo (WAF obviously an issue rolleyes.gif)
Those are mine. I sure do wish someone would buy them. smile.gif

I played them at low levels just to break them in. They didn't see any real use and are boxed up now. I found them to be just too big for my space.

You crack me up. I have a feeling your audio quest will never end. And I am not saying there is anything wrong with that, it's just funny because I am/was the same way. eek.gif Although, I do think I am done finally....

Is it the journey or the destination?? The answer for many seems to be both, but the journey takes a lot longer biggrin.gif

$799 per speaker for the veritas 6.3 on sounddistributors.com is the best deal I could find. Vanns doesn't carry them anymore so is this about the best deal left outside of buying used? I guess with it being discontinued, finding new ones for a great deal will be difficult.
Check WWSTEREO,They had the rosenut V6.3 avaialble not to long ago. Ask if they still have a promo code to use. If they do
they will tell you or you can look it up ahead of time.
Don't want to spend money anymore. Only for swapping. Only if anyone is interested.
You really dont think anyone is going to take you up on that offer do you?
And if someone actually did what are you going to do sell the rclcr and buy
a v5.2 for center. Would all of this haapen to do with the fact that you have the v5.2
for surrounds mixed in with the RC-70's and the RCLCR?

Just taking a chance. Ofcourse including the three fronts. I heard veritas much better speaker for movies? How true?

lets not forget "TV15" which will yield 15% off the Veritas. Hope everyone got to spend time with their Dad's this weekend. If not I know the memories are what is important. I could not have asked for a better father's Day weekened with my Dad!!

I let him help me set up the Mancave Veritas, and I don't know if its the imaging or the spacing, but there is something to be said about the soundfield on the V5.2Cs, I am using some overpriced RC-Rs on the surrounds. I believe I have a much better space upstairs for home theater.

6.3s are not in my future , for what its worth. I watched the first 15 minutes of The Impossible and Finding Nemo to test the dialogue with the Vmini-C and the V5.2Cs. I love the look of the Lovan M2 24's as well. Not too much time lately as I have been working outside on yard, and spending time with my Grill.

so in a nutshell, much less of #1 and much more of #2, but I have to say the Veritas, not only look gorgeous in the space, but they also sound the part too powered by a AVR3312CI, The RC-Rs are on the far sides of the room as seen in the pictures. The surround is very immersive at these positions once Audessy MultiXT is calibrated!!

and more of :

Makes sense to me!

Also....Had time to replace the DMD TI Chip in my Mits Diamond DLP from 2008, Still has an amazing picture on it, I fought Mits tooth and nail to just send me the part a almost a year ago, but just got around to repairing the light engine.

Well you may not be much different than some of us on here who have upgraded or switched out speakers shortly after purchasing them in hopes that the other speakers
are what we are going to like better. Problem, like I told you dont mix the different lines of speakers stay in the same line. You have those V5.2 for surrounds and the way
you have them positioned (and I know its the only way to do it in your space) you are probably not hearing your front stage as well. For me yes I like the newer Veritas better
for HT, but thats not saying the RC-line is bad, its actually very good. My guess is if you didnt have those V5.2 for surrounds mixed in with your RC-Line you wouldnt be wanting
to switch them out. You started with some very small speakers and look were you are now.smile.gif

This can be an endless game and if you play to much you may find your self spending way more TIME and MONEY trying to find the perfect speaker
and less and less time enjoying what you have. Now with that said if the V5.2 doesnt really mix well, its easier tand cheaper to get rid of those and get a pair
of RC-10's. than it would be to get rid of your RC-70's and RCLCR and then find the V6.2 or V6.3 for front stage.

Anyways how ever you go about it it's cool, I have been down that road with 4 different HT setups.
One other thing I would mention is yes I like the newer Veritas better for HT than the RC-Line, but with that said its
not like night and day differences. I could be happy with either one of those if those were my 2 choices for HT setup.
im really happy wirh my rc 70's with the v5.2c surrounds. i just only thought about the rc swap to veritas 6.3 because that is what i read on here they said veritas is much better for HT and i always watch movies. no music. but if that what you said that there is no really big drama from rc to veritas, i might keep what i have now. and as for my v5.2 as surrounds it is very good from what i am hearing since i got them while watching movies. i know they are too close to my MLP because of my limited space on my living room. but i know if i can find a much bigger place i know it will sounds good with my combo with rc and veritas with their proper positions.

I give him credit for one thing, He sticks to his bottom line and that line being they do not discount below 15% on those .....soon to be vintage Veritas lol

Whats the name of that seller? Its not WWSTEREO
post #48147 of 51452
www.acousticsounddesign.com

"tv15"

the code only applies on website orders, not ebay, not amazon.

Mike is usually available in chat during regular business hours.

search "Veritas",

Paypal is the preferred payment, and all prices are shipped.

they are authorized online dealers for many brands.

One of the very few places that have the V5.2C in piano black. Most everywhere else has dried up.
While everyone is listing their energy speakers for sale, I'll add that I have a pair of cf-70's available in eastern PA (17603). Can't ship because I didn't keep the boxes.

I don't think they'd be "much better." You could probably get the same sound benefit for HT just by finding better speaker/sub placement, or checking your crossover settings, etc. When creating a home theater you should almost always build around your mains. If you have the center (which you bought after selling the Veritas center), and two of the best towers in the line, why sell those at a loss to switch to another line only to match your surrounds. My advice? Chill and enjoy what you have.

If you REALLY want to match the line, I really liked baron2's suggestion of a pair of RC-10s to replace your surrounds.

Yes maybe hopefully when i can move to a better bigger place and from there a proper positioning of all the speakers. And yes i am enjoying what i have now and very happy with my v5.2c surrounds. Thanks a lot guys.
