Got the garage HT setup done, just need to clean the bench and hide a few wires. Its an odd setup but I threw the RC-70's and RCLCR into the mix for my side and back speakers. Actually sounds great mixed in with my front stage. My setup consist of
Pioneer PRO-111-9 G Kuro Display.....Yamaha RX-Z9 Receiver.....Oppo BDP 83 Bluray ....V2.3i Fronts ...V2.0Ci Center ...Dual- S12.3 Subs.....RC-70's Side Surounds....RCLCR....Back Suround. Its loud!!!!! Im going to put the RC-70's on dollies & the RCLCR so when I just want music when I am out in the back I can turn them all to face the outside. Thanks for the great Idea Fears4Ears cool.gif Frampton Comes Alive...Do You Feel Like I Do......... Baron2 do the weather in the summer is good? Not too hot?
Losservatore your right summer is in the upper 70's to mid 80's and only rains a few days the whole summer. Im outside in the yard or on the deck alot
so wanted to put a HT setup out there. Plus were having another major 4th of July Party going from the 4th through the 6th with a proffesional fireworks display on the 4th and the 6th. Lots of people going to be around, we know all the people so no need to worry about my setup and the garage is on an alarm plus 3 German Shepherds out here.

Awesome dude! You don't have far to go for a cold drink either!

How about some Ted Nugent? That should keep the deer away!

Wow baron2 that's nice to know, enjoy the awesome weather there.

Homebound is my favorite from Teds early days. It always gets me fired up when on the way home from a long deployment.

Oh, and I'm seriously envious of your garage! If only I could move it here to San Diego!

Nugent's "Hey, Baby" is one of my favs and one of the funkiest songs ever. I've got Ten Years After's "Undead" (live) album with "Coming Home", and of course the one from Woodstock. But I guess you saw THAT live and in person didn't you baron?

Yes I did as a young kid. My father drove us in his multi colored school bus to see the original Woodstock. Man I was just a young kid then. Saw Hendrix play.
My Father was one cool Dude. His Favorite saying was Peace, Love & Jimmi Hendrix. Thanks Dad for all the cool memories.

Wow $200 free shipping !!! But not perfect for center channel, I prefer the 5.2 center speaker for dialogue.

Singles come up all the time on eBay with slight damage. If you wanted to sit on one until a mate came up. Just saying.

I can't believe it. We're planning a trip to Brussels so I was just on Youtube watching a vid called "A Sunny Day in Brussels" when the cameraman walked by somebody playing Grand Funk Railroad!

Small world indeed!

Unbelievable!

Thats crazy man. We were just chatting about GFR. Watched the 1st movie with the new setup. Wife was impressed so all is good.
I've got the "Closer to Home" and "live" albums. Couldn't believe it when I heard "Can I get a witness, yeah, yeah"!

Glad the wife is gettin' into it!

You gotta get some SACD/DVD Audio for your Oppo! Try that Dr. Cheskys surround demo. It has a track called "The Storm" that will really test your surrounds, and confuse the HELL out of any nearby animals!

Hd tracks has a deal for a free download going. 9 tracks in all I think.

While watching Game of Thrones I noticed something was wrong with one of my Energy V6.2 speakers. I played a surround test clip to compare each speaker and heard no high's from the speaker that stood out. Upon removing the grill I found the tweeter appears to be fully extended outward, forcing itself beyond it's normal max and touching the plastic guard and has been deformed by doing so. It appears to be frozen in this position. I live in a townhouse connected to neighbors on both walls of the theater room, so I never push enough power to these to crank them loudly. Using a Denon AVR-488 to power them.
This is extremely concerning, especially since when I first bought these, I had to return/exchange a V5.2C that arrived with the tweeter rattling about dangling inside of the speaker enclosure. Does this line of Energy just have poor quality tweeter components?

If Energy's limited 5 year warranty is going to require me to pay shipping for a 50 lb speaker, I might just have to try to buy a replacement tweeter instead if possible.

Thoughts and/or suggestions?

edit:
Aside from the questionable quality of the tweeters, I am in love with the sound they produce and they serve my miniature theater quite well!

What size Tv is that ?
That's a projector screen, not a tv!

Sweet looking setup dude. There have been reports of tweeter failures with the recent V series models. I wouldn't call it "common" but it does seem to happen. You shouldn't have to ship the speaker, they will probably send you a replacement tweeter.

Pulled the trigger on veritas 6.3, center and bookshelfs. Any opinions on the 5.1 bookshelfs versus the VS surrounds in terms of sound? I know the VS is mainly used for wall mounting and I will be using the 5.1 on stands for surrounds.
I'm shopping around and Energy seems to be a highly recommended brand. I need 5 speakers (I have a BIC Acoustech H-100 sub) for my new home. 12' x 18' x '8' living room, hardwood, open floor plan to the kitchen, office, etc. Watch movies, play video games and watch TV, pretty much near zero music. Looking to spend around $750 for bookshelf speakers, maybe $1000 to have 2 front L and R towers.

Congrats on the new setup. Did you get them new or on the used market? What color are the Veritas?
Never had the V5.1 or the VS Surrounds but I am using V5.2 for my surrounds and I like direct firing
compared to a surround speaker.
Thanks. Bought them through acousticsoundesign.com. Mike honored the tv20 code so that was cool.

Would've loved to get the rosenut finish but I wanted it match the outlaw ex sub I picked up so I went with black. Also picked up a pioneer sc1522k (costco deal) to run everything.

Going from a onkyo htib to this, I'm hoping for a substantial gain in sound quality!
That TV20 code is great, saved some good money that way.
