Caloyzki,

I have to agree, those were sold very quickly in the NYC area ....Man on a mission I guess.

Don't be afraid to save some dough on the RC-LCR when the time comes, A V-MiniC sounds great too for the price. Im using one with 2 V5.2Cs for L/R due to space considerations. Im not displeased with the VminiC at all, and quite suprised.

Wow that was fast! Sorry to hear about the emergency but the good news is that speakers are just "things" and things aren't as important as family, health, financial stability, etc.

I'm sure you can find an inexpensive pair of decent little speakers and use them for the time being. There are always good values out there! We can watch your local Craigslist and help you find something nice for cheap.

I remember waking up on a Saturday, and deciding having a 3rd vehicle, not a daily driver...was not a financial priority. Sold it the in 4 hrs on Craigslist. Test drive and inspected within 6 hrs, and check in hand at finance company who was doing the finacing for the buyer in 24hrs. He even gave me a lift back to work in the 2000 TJ Sport , that he bought from me.

I bought the Jeep for $8K cash, sold a competition wench to brother in law for 600 i think. It was a $1500 wench.

Kept jeep for 2 years, Not a daily driver, have a garage for top down storage,

Replaced battery, and alternator, and water pump, About 300 in parts or so

Listed for 8900 and took 8500 once mechanic noted CV joint and axel busted.

It was great to put the $8500 back in the bank. That jeep was a gem though, 4" lift kit, 33s, warn front and rear bumpers, 89000 on original engine ( she was just broken in) hex locks on the doors so people couple rip them off, AC worked great too.

Jeeps will go forever and parts supply is about endless.

Anyways, the owner lives in the neighborhood, and I see it just about every day. Sure was pretty.

Not too ofter you drive something for 2 years and net a couple hundred on resale, but jeeps are like that.

In my neck of the woods, jeeps aren't like that at all.

I have 2 also and the s12.3. Are you looking to get a couple more s10.3s? It would be under 2 bills a piece.
i would like a 12.3 or omni s-12 since they are sister subs, but I suppose I am just hiding my desire for an Outlaw, Epic or HSU. I guess it all comes down to cost.

I feel spoiled since i got my S10.3s from newegg back in the day for around $180 each. Tomorrow I have to package my AVR3312CI, and send to GA svc center.

They came through and approved out of warranty courtesy repair / HDMI board is bad / Network and HDMI sub output freezes up periodically at random for no rhythm or reason.

If they cant repair I will gladly accept an x4000 in exchange. haha

the hold value quite well on the NC Coast. Why do you think i drove 5 hours away to buy it. lol.

also a small side note: Never buy a jeep that has been used in a coastal region. You are likely to fall out of the bottom perhaps from the salt corrosion / rust.

But i think overall Wranglers do hold their value quite well in many areas.

If anybody in the GTA is looking for a pair of RC-10's in black ash, let me know. I had to downgrade so that I could fit a bigger monitor on my desk for work frown.gif .

I purchased V-mini C to use as front wide but wondering if it’s better to use them as surround and move RC10 to front wide. Is it better to tonally match front speakers as close as possible than surrounds?

Front L/R RC70, Center RCLCR, Front Wide RC10, Surround L/R V-mini C
Or
Front L/R RC70, Center RCLCR, Surround L/R RC10 (current setup) plus Front Wide V-mini C

And if I use V-mini C as surround, I can mount them either horizontally or vertically. I think it’s better to mount them horizontally as it’s how it's designed, right?

I use the RC-10's as surrounds and like them a lot for that. If I went with front wides (sacrificing rears in my case, with my AVR), I'd probably use an extra set of RC-10's that I have for the reason you're quoting - tonal match.

As to positioning, the V-mini C can be used in either orientation well, since it's designed for that, as far as I know.
I would recommend using the RC-10's as wides and the V-Mini C's as surrounds. The wides are in front of you and are supposed to extend the front soundstage, so should be a good tonal match for the other front speakers. The surrounds are a bit less important.

But you should feel free to experiment. If, for example, you find that you aren't that into the wide processing, and end up running in standard 5.1 mode most of the time, it's probably worth keeping the better speakers as surrounds.

Thank you, Hernanu and batpig, for your comments.
I'll move RC10 to front wide and use v-mini as surround for now. V-mini c will be mounted vertically. I have this wall mount so I don't know how I can mount the V-mini horizontally if I need.

I understand V-mini-c can be in vertical or horizontal positioin. I am still wondering if setting it up one way or another is benificial as surround duty.

Interesting but it never occurred to me to set them up horizontally for surround duty. I'm beginning to think that would be more beneficial, particularly if you have them mounted up high. Test it out and let us know tongue.gif.

EDIT: PM's replied about my RC-10's for sale.

In using then horizontally for height duty. Soud great with rc 70s on front rclcr center. I might be adding vminis not center for sides if I can figure out placement options. Ihave to complete the pair first. I have just one vmini

I didn't say they were mounted. They are up very high but not mounted yet. Sitting on top of 8ft wall unit piers.

I got it. Mine will be set up vertically, until I figure out how to mount them horizontally.

Don't know where I should post this, but i'm looking to sell my V-mini-c's in Rosenut. Asking $150 for the pair. My Panasonic plasma is making a loud buzzing noise from the back, which usually indicated the main board is going out. Or at least that's what my experience tells me. Anyway, gotta get rid of some stuff to help pay for a replacement.

sorry to hear abut your plasma going south,

sent you a pm with some info.

Thanks for that. Only had this plasma for 2 months now, still sticking with plasma, but disappointed for sure.
