I purchased the C-C100 last Friday afternoon and shipping said 7-9 days. So I don't expect to see it until sometime next week at the earliest. Probably shipped Monday at the earliest if it even has yet.
FYI- Long time lurker, first time poster- I ordered my C-C100 from Buy.com with the standard 7-9 day shipping on Saturday and got a confirmation on Monday night that it shipped. Per Fed Ex's website tracking it should arrive here in Denver tomorrow (2/4), which is a lot quicker than the 7-9 days that Buy.com quoted.
I'll post a follow up here to confirm if I receive it and to confirm that it is indeed the black version of the C-C100.
Hopefully it will nicely compliment the 2 C-300's I already received from wwstereo and the C-50 I received from audioadvisor.
A big thanks to everyone's advice here on this thread in helping me make my decisions.
On a Side note- Has anyone received thier C-C100 from Buy.com?
I have used the particular Banana plugs from your first link.. Lowes sells the same brand plugs in our area for a little over $4 a pair, so the monoprice amount looks good depending on shipping... There are two set screws in each plug and make a very secure connection.

I wouldn't worry just yet. Their shipping is really weird at times. I ordered a laptop for the wife for christmas and I started getting worried wen it didn't show up. No emails nothing, so I looked up the status and couldn't find it. I sent them an email got no responce but the laptop showed up and finally the shipping email arrived a few days later. They never did answer my inquiry as to where the laptop was.

Those monoprice plugs don't have the double set screw like the Lowe's plugs. They are a "compression screw" type, where you insert the wire and fold it over the bottom piece of the banana plug, then screw on the top piece.
They are decent plugs, but in order to get tight compression with 14 or 16 guage wire (never used anything bigger with these), you'll want to remove the red or black plastic spacers - just keep track of your wire polarity!
I personally like the set screw style of the Lowe's plugs better, plus they have a better plug (6 "spring leafs" instead of 4 on the monoprice) - they make a tighter connection.
Still, I use some of those monoprice plugs and they work fine.
So I'm thinking about getting the Take Classic. The problem is my "room". Basically almost my entire downstairs (living room, kitchen, dining area) is one big room, about 40' by 20', with the living room area 20' wide and 18' front to back, with the back completely open to the kitchen and dining area and 9' ceilings. The floor is ceramic tile, though the living room has an area rug.
I'm trying to figure if I can get away with the Take Classic or if I need a pair of floorstanders in the front. The problem is that I want the small satellites in the back (nothing large).

That wwstereo deal with the c300 towers, the small c-50 bookshelves would be perfect. The throw in a c-c100 center channel, and a good sub like the pa-120
Hey guys just to keep you all updated, my C-C100 from buy.com shipped this morning according to my order status page, with tracking number and all. Keeping my fingers crossed that this turns out to be real!!! I no longer regret telling you all about it before I got my own
Quick question- Do Energy speakers use open or closed end banana plugs?
Ease of use, gripping qualities, and aesthetics aside, a banana plug is a banana plug is a banana plug. Energy speakers accommodate banana plugs - period. If one were functionally different from another, then I suspect they would be called an apple plug or a pear plug.

I got all my new gear in the last two days. AVR, speakers and sub. Got it all wired tonight except for bi-amping the fronts ( need more wire and banana plugs). The only bummer is by the time I got done all the kids were in bed so I could not even turn it on to run the auto setup with fear of waking the entire house. I can not wait till I get home tomorrow afternoon to fire it up and do some tweaking. Right now it is just sitting there mocking me.

I got a shipping confirmation today too. Mine isn't scheduled to get here until next Wednesday. Pretty much what I figured.

Cant seem to find that set on the WW site. Also I'm trying to keep the total below $500. Man this speaker selection stuff is tough...
Do you guys think that mirage sub would be an upgrade over my pa-120? My dad needs a sub, and I was thinking of getting the mirage, and giving him the pa-120.
As afrogt pointed out it has the same specs as the esw-v10, and it has more peak, and rms wattage than the pa-120.
the esw-v10 on the same site is quite a bit more. weird.

I use these plugs with 12g wire, still with the red and black on them, and have no issues at all. They are nice and tight.
What I did was instead of stripping a little and putting the fully sheathed wire into the plug and folding over, I stripped it so there is only bare wire inside- the sheath stops at the end of the plug, and folded over. It works really nice.

It's interesting we all seemed to get the emails at the same time. Also mine didn't come with a tracking number and as per usual with them I logged in and the item isn't even in the list of things I've bought from them. My guess is the package will show up before the site ever gives me any information. So I'll just have to wait to see when it shows up. It's pretty frustrating and it's pointless to contact them. They never answered my last inquiry. It's one of the reasons I don't buy from them unless I can't get it any place else at that price or cheaper.
Based on the info that Buy.com had this center speaker on sale I pulled the trigger. I had just bought the C-C50, but am worried that it is not powerful enough. I had to go into my AVR and manually turn up the center channel during Pirates of the Caribbean (the first one) to get it to where it needed to be and it was still a bit faint. The only catch is whether it will fit into my new entertainment center that has yet to arrive.
I have four RC-10s for surround and rear (7.1 channel). I understand these should be at 6 feet high. I am thinking of building mounts to have them at 6 feet, but I will attach the mounts to my ceiling. Make sense ?
Also, I have RC-70s as my fronts, and an RC-LCR. My sub is an older E:Xl S10. I am thinking of buying an ESW V8 (at a really good price). I don't have the cash for an ESW V10. Do you think the ESV V8 is an upgrade over my old sub ? And do you think it would give me enough bass. I don't play my music/movies too loud.
P.S. My room is huge, but my listening area is an alcove, 12 feet by 12 feet. Thanks.

I've been using a small 8" Orb sub in a listening space not a whole lot bigger than that, and at moderate to low volume levels it works really well. Since I've started playing things a lot louder lately, I've decided to move to a 15" AV123 sub, but it isn't due until tomorrow. I'll have a better idea then about what kind of difference it makes.
But the energy 12.3 sub is only 50 bucks more! Which one is best?
Mirage 10 inch $400
Energy 12.3 12incher $450
is the Mirage still a better quality sub?
They're both quality subs, no way to say which one is best without testing in the same room. The Energy has a 12" woofer and plays down to 19hz. The Mirage has more power but only plays down to 23Hz, but it also has a gloss black finish which is nice.
Get the Energy 12.3 if you're gonna keep worrying if you should have purchased the bigger sub.
I honestly think you're worrying too much.
Why don't you call wwstereo.com and ask them which one is best. I doubt anyone has tried both in their home.

I have just the C-100s, for the Front Mains, and only a 2.0 receiver now. I have been wondering if I made a mistake with only the C-100s as fronts, and REALLY wanted the C-300 Towers, but I live in a Apt.
Well, without the ESW-8 Sub even going yet, it sounds fine. I am sure if you can swing a set of C-300’s, you will be more than happy, and I will envy each one of you (lol, but true).
When I get a AVR that also powers the sub, I am sure this is going to be plenty of base, and much more for… Apt use.
So far, I could not be happier.
I read once in a while where someone has the C-100’s as Surrounds, and C300 or the C500’s for mains, with a beefy sub. That has to be F***ing awesome!!!! But I would get evicted quite quickly with that setup.
I could not be happier with the Energies, and I bought them on a risk, meaning, I never heard them, and I never buy speakers without hearing them first.
So this was a MAJOR Risk for me, and is against my BETTER Judgment!
So far……… Incredible!!!! I am not sorry at ALL!!!!!!!
