I bet if he woulda worn a shirt that didn't go off the shoulders it woulda been a little easier to tell the person was male.

Where'd you all go?

Some pretty funny moments last night.

I never know Randy and Paula had a DVD to train people how to sing.

apparently the producers of american idol, or fox, or whoever, didnt get a peice of it, so they dont want you to know. They blocked out the dvd when the kid was walking away with it. Guess the peice was too funny to just cut out all together, but they didnt want to advertize for the dvd any more then they had to

That was priceless!! He should have asked them for a refund.... :D

How about the girl at the end- Rhonetta Johnson...
In addition to having no clue of how to sing or dress.... she needed a muzzle to boot! What a filthy mouth. Sometimes Idol keeps the camera rolling too long which just feeds these nut-jobs ego's. And eaxctly what did Paula do to her that set her off anyway?

Paula is looking like 100X better this year, maybe she's off the "old hag" meds that whacked her out last year. She looks 10 years younger, and when she danced with that one guy... her figure looked pretty good again.
Nice job Paula!

I caught (purely by accident) about 30 minutes of last night's show. I am not a fan at all, but others in my household who will remain nameless are fans.

After watching the last half hour, I've come to the conclusion that society in the U.S. is just about totally down the toilet, and we should all pack it in.

How depressing...I may need meds.... :D

It is now impossible to tell apart Jerry Springer & American Idol.

I'm going to take a nap now....

You know, that's a pretty good point.

Read last year's thead and each week, people were commenting on how she looked all "glassy-eyed".

I'm almost a little suprised that after all the stuff last year, she can still get away with things like slow dancing with that military guy and some of the other comments then go on between her and male contestants.

Interesting you should mention that. When my wife and I were watching last night, it looked to us from the expressions on her face that she was starting to get uncomfortable with the whole dancing with the military guy thing--as if the whole thing was starting to hit a little too close to home given the Cory Clark brew-ha-ha last year. It looked to us like she was playing along, but not very happy about it.

When the guy's wife came in, Paula almost looked relieved.

Which is exactly why Randy and Simon kept egging the guy on and literally pushed her into his arms :D :D
Did you hear Simon's little comment to Paula... "Don't get too close" ;)
Yeah but she did wrap her arms and legs around him as he went to the door. LMAO
post #70 of 3317
Too true, LOL!

I would love to see the producer's method of picking people to push with the background stories and how they get the no-talent people to do the montage songs and I am sure the producers egg-on some of the obnoxious people to get more rants or emotional outbursts.
Montage songs must be taped up front - before the auditions in front of the Big 3. My guess is that when you sign up, they give you the lyrics for a song and tell you to learn that in addition to the song of your choice.
Dammit they're purposely keeping the camera off the cute girl next to the door who always has priceless expressions when contestants leave the room. During the first show, her face often said more than everything the three judges said. Instead they're showing us the wall on the other side of the door. Last night they did accidentally show her barely containing her laughter once and she really cracked me up.

what's with all of the gender confused people this year? last week was our good friend, then another one yesterday (the "guy" that was dancing around with his magic carpet). tonight it looks like still another one, the guy or girl (can't tell yet) that simon calls the wife of the hulk.

i've never watched it before this year, but is this the sort of people they always have on here?

btw, i think that guy yesterday disturbed me even more than the original one last week. at least the one last week acted "normal". this one yesterday was dancing around like a crazy idiot, and he wore more makeup than my wife...

I admit, my co-workers and I have noticed the same thing, much more than last year. "Not that there's anything wrong with that."

I would bet that with thousands of people auditioning it's easy to find one or two songs repeated by many of the contestants. I don't think they have to set that up at all.
I believe the contestants have a fairly short list of songs they can choose to perform. They probably put "Fame" and "Proud Mary" and other karaoke klassics at the top of the list to bait the hacks.

Some of these people act outrageous to just get on the audition's worst list.

Magic Carpet guy was a faker. He knew he couldn't sing and wasn't serious about singing; only about getting on TV.

All i can say is thank god for DVRs; I made it through 2 hours of cr#p in only 40 minutes.

Why don't they allow real musicians rather than silly little singers that mistake number of syllables inserted in a monosyllabic word for talent? By "real musicians" I mean people that actually play instruments and form bands, and such.

The show is putrid not only because of the lack of talent of the performers chosen, but because of the lack of range of type of performers permitted.

- Why wouldn't they allow real musicians on the show? Anyone who wants to that fits the age criteria can audition. Are you saying that they should only allow "musicians" on the show? Because that's not what the show is about. They are looking to manufacture a pop singer, nothing more, nothing less.

Don't forget that this is the "freak show" period of AI. We're only getting brief glimpses of dozens of contestants who have passed the auditions and are going to Hollywood but haven't gotten a second of air time yet.

Of course the contestants who didn't warrant air time at their first auditions tend to get knocked off pretty early in the next round since AI seems to have a pretty good idea of who will succeed.

They have to set it up. The "featured" horrible singers are almost all in the montage and the song we see in the montage is not the song they sing in the audition in front of the Big 3.

Yeah, I guess you are correct. What was I thinking? The name of the show pretty well says that they are interested in pop stars not musicians, so, the more syllables and ghetto yodelling the better.

- The original UK show was called Pop Idol. ;)

so whatever happened to the "wife of the hulk" guy/girl? they kept showing promos of it but never actually showed the audition. did i miss something? since it wasn't on yesterday i thought it would show up tonight but no dice...

What's up with the news media this season? All I keep seeing is how Idol is "Meaner the ever." After watching for the last couple of weeks, is looks like the same Idol to me. I guess it must be a slow news month.
The media is on the side of the gay groups who are whining that some of the weird, ultra-feminine contestants were treatly rudely. Of course we don't have actual proof that these gender confused in-duh-viduals are actually gay, but the media never lets the facts get in the way of a good story.

Frankly, I'm GLAAD to see them ripped to shreds just like all the others who are weird and have no talent.
I just saw the winner audition last night. They might as well just hand the title to her right now...oh, wait, they can't make any money that way. I don't remember her name, but she was the one coached by her mom. She da winner, I can tell.

Exactly. From what I've seen, the judges are equal opportunity insulter's. The common thread being, "They Can't Sing."

My thoughts are, if you don't like it, don't watch. But stop whining.
