Harmony Rebate and Sweepstakes - Page 2

Yes, and in fact the 676 shows in stock and available in store.

Now I need to program this 676. I am not worried about getting my devices installed as I took a test drive. But, I wonder how easy it will be to modify some keys, etc. I need to add X10 as well.

OH, you would only get $6 more on the 110% deal, not worth it unless you are near them anyway. I do not understand this as it IS their Policy and should be automatic.

As far as I know, Wal Mart is the only physical store that sells the 676 at a reduced price that can be used as a price match, although, they don't technically sell them in the store. The plus for us, that unlike the 880 that states "online only," the 676 does not.

Whoa. Are you saying that BB doesn't price match Costco? I don't know about the 676, but Costco has the 880 online for $199 (it's $249 most places). I can see how Best Buy might try to avoid price matching Costco, but as far as I can tell from reading the price matching policy on bestbuy.com, they should match Costco's price. Has anyone tried using Costco's price (for any product) for a price match at Best Buy?
$199 at Costco - $50 rebate = $149...dang...might rethink my 676 purchase since I budgeted $150 for a remote in the first place...though I am getting my 676 for $118 at Amazon - $50 = $68. Nah, I'll stick with the 676.

I printed the Wal-Mart page for the Harmony 676 and took it to BB, luckily the printout does not say "on-line only" and BB matched the WM price with no questions.

Cool, thanks,

Glad to hear it. I think that is the best price that I have found online that actually has a physical store that BB can price match.
:D  :D

That's what I did. Did BB give you the 110% PM? Mine did so I got $66 off the BB price...not just $60 off.

I saw this rebate, and it was the final push I needed to finally order an 880. I found an online reseller that got me the best deal after shipping and tax is taken into account, and I contacted them to ensure I would get the rebate if I ordered it through them.

They responded the next day, letting me know they had just received the rebate info from Logitech, and they had just posted information about it on their site. They assured me I would indeed qualify for the rebate if I ordered it through them.

So, I placed the order. That was late last week.

Today, I get an email from that reseller, alerting me that Logitech contacted them and asked them to remove the rebate info from the site; they were contacting me to alert me to the situation, and were offering to let me cancel my order, and that they would not be shipping it until they heard from me. So, I called them, and got the story. Logitech made mention that the rebate was intended to be made available in conjunction with another purchase (the reseller guy I talked to also mentioned Tivo), though the rebate form does not state this in the conditions. I suspect the URL was not supposed to be made available to the general public, but rather was to be targeted to Tivo users (I am still trying to find any mention of Tivo on the rebate form...).

So, he told me that about half of his customers have decided to take their chances with the rebate, and he again made sure I understood that he (the reseller) was in no way responsible if I didn't get it. I'm going for it. He then told me he would upgrade my delivery to express at no extra charge so I could still get it when I should have.

Those of you who have ordered recently, check with your resellers to see what they know.

If you click on the link to the rebate form that is in message #5 in this thread it clearly states "Exclusive offer for TiVo users." in red just below the picture of the 880. But, as was mentioned earlier, there is no instructions on the form as to how to prove your are a TiVo user. So, I really wonder how they could turn down the rebate on a legit 880 purchase with receipt and UPC code.

I ordered my 880 from ecost.com last week and I have already sent my rebate in. I guess I'll find out whether they accept it or not.

Ah, there are definitely two versions of that PDF form floating around! One has that Tivo-specific red text, and the other doesn't! Good thing I have a copy of the one that doesn't - I'll use that when sending in my rebate request in hopes of improving my chances.

I downloaded my version of the rebate form from another forum... perhaps someone photoshopped the red text out before posting it there...

For the record, the Logitech site's rebate form does have the red Tivo-specific text, but perhaps at one point it did not?

I entered the sweepstakes and at the end it offered the rebate form as a "thank you". Didnt have restrictions as to owning a TIVO...
Got another message from the reseller:

"We have just been informed that the means of getting this rebate involves subscribing to TIVO. As stated previously, Logitech may or may not honor the rebate anyways. We here at <reseller's name> just wanted to keep you as informed as we are."

FedEx says mine will arrive on Friday...

I got my form from the Logitech site and it did NOT have the TiVo on it! It changed sometime Sunday.

I called the rebate info number. You need to hit 0 and it will say it did not understand. You will then get connected to a person. She did not have the rebate info yet. I will call back, but she suggested that it was probably OK if it does not ask for TiVo info anywhere. i even told her that my form said nothing about TiVo!

Me too. The rebate WAS from Logitech as a thank you and did NOT have the red TiVo stuff.

Has anyone who ordered from eCost get their remote yet? I did and I noticed that the part number is slightly different on the UPC than what the rebate states. The box i received the 880 in is English and French, vs. the 880 I returned to BB which was all in English. The box from BB did have the correct part number, same remote.

I got mine from ecost but I didn't pay attention to the part numbers and I have already sent my rebate in "with the one that mentions exclusive offer for TiVo users". Every day there seems to be another post in this thread that makes me think my rebate is going to get rejected. :(

My 676 from BB does have the correct P/N.

Here's the rebate form without the red Tivo-related verbiage...

Just got my 676 today. Gonna send my rebate in tomorrow...will report back. But I agree with another poster. Over the last two days each new post made me think that my rebate would be rejected.

But, I have the rebate form linked to on page 1 of this thread and the correct part number...$75 for this remote...dang!

Is this a real one? Even when I filled out the survey, I received the form with the TIVO offer.

I will probably send something in tomorrow...and think positive thoughts. :o

I can't speak to this form's "validity," as I found it as an attachment on another forum. But according to mpsan, the .pdf document being served by the Logitech sweepstakes site was missing the red Tivo-related text prior to Sunday. Logitech's webmaster could have realized the "mistake" and replaced it with an updated .pdf file. Who knows, by tomorrow there could be a new version of the form that adds proof of Tivo ownership as a requirement.

I'm going to use the non-Tivo form to submit my rebate, and if they reject it citing non-compliance with some Tivo-related condition, I'll act like I don't know what the heck they're talking about.

But like many have mentioned, it's not like they're asking us to send in any kind of Tivo-related proof, so I don't know how they would know to reject it!

I'm bucking the trend... I shall remain confident!

(and good luck to us all)

I did the Survey Saturday, 1/20 and it did NOT have the TiVo on it. That happened Sunday!

...also. If you go to
www.logitech.com/remote/
That page is the survey first page and it does not say TiVo anywhere. In fact, it says

Residents of Florida and New York are not eligible to enter the Sweepstakes but may obtain a $50 rebate for the purchase of a Harmony® 880 or Harmony® 676 remote control by clicking here and filling out the rebate request form.

On Saturday, the form it linked you to had nothing about TiVo on it and this was all from the Logitech site...no internet altered form involved!

Thanks for the non-TiVo form, my 676 from BB has the correct ser # and the manual is in English and French. I will mail the rebate tonight.

Yesterday I spent 3.5 hours on the phone with a Harmony service rep. Their database did not have the correct info for my Panasonic SA-XR55 so it took some time for us to get it updated correctly.

The call to the service rep was connected with no wait on hold, the rep was friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and spoke English as well as I do (well, actually he did have a slight regional accent but not a prob :) ). It was a great learning experience for me but I wish I could have taken a little less time.

So far I am happy with the Harmony remote.

Not sure what is wrong but you can also make sure that you do not have a popup blocker running.

How would we know yet? I guess I was assuming you'd hear via email if you won, but I don't have a feel for the timeline (i.e., if you don't have an email by XX/XX/XX, then you didn't win one).

Anybody know any detail on this?

Official rules

Since it states that winners need to return an Affidavit of Eligibility by 2/15/06 that would mean people should be getting notified any time now (if not already).
