My never-ending LG hell continues.
As you may have seen in my previous posts, my LG 50PC5D model has been a nightmare (as was the previous 1080p LG they replaced TWICE before this one, before letting me opt for this plasma replacement this time around).
When I got the 50PC5D replacement, it buzzed loudly during bright scenes, and also didn't do HDMI at 1080i as it was supposed to (Korean version is supposed to do 1080i input, which it does, but there is a line jumping issue).
After complaining over the course of the past few months, and after no fewer than 4 service calls dealing with my buzzing problem alone (and them telling me every excuse from "it's normal" to "I don't hear anything" when I could hear it 10 feet away EASILY), LG replaced the ENTIRE inside of the unit, including the plasma screen (with the exception of the speakers and some small electronics near the speakers at the bottom inside of the set).
The buzzing is now gone. The HDMI STILL looks like crap. And now... WORSE... I have a blue sparkling effect that happens as a sort of halo around parts of the screen until the machine warms up after a few minutes.
So are you following me... this is effectively the 4th TV LG has sent to my home, and ALL have had various serious issues.
I have read online that there were big problems with the older version of this set (pre 50PC5D model) that had this problem, and I am now wondering if they replaced my screen with a cheaper one for an older model! This model is not supposed to have the sparkling problems.
For more information on this issue, see and scroll down to the LG comments:http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/arch...p/t-635482.html
The sparkles can come in different colors, and mine are the kind that glow and trail along the edge of images. Gawd, I wish I just could have gotten my money back from this company 7 service calls ago! Yes, they have been here over 7 times, and including this panel, they have replaced my LG TVs with 4 new ones (including changing from LCD to PDP before) and ALL OF THEM exhibited some sort of problem.
This one also seems to have a blemish in the screen glass, as well. Not a dead pixel -- an actual screen blemish!
Stay far, far, far away from LG. Run far and fast. This is pure hell! I WANTED MY MONEY BACK 3 TVs ago, BUT THEY HAVE ALWAYS REFUSED!!!
