Small DIY Sub

I know it's not a very popular idea on these forums, but has anyone come up with a small musical sub similar to the HSU SF-1 or Outlaw LFM-2. Is it not cost effective or does everyone just want a bigger bang for the buck? I was trying to build something small for my in-laws mid-sized TV room.

If a kit is something you might consider... the 10" Titanic MkIII kit from Parts Express is very easy to assemble. It is very good for music. I have one and believe it is one of the best bang for the buck deals around.

It sounds like you are describing a servo sub ;)

Small sealed enclosure. 12" long throw driver. Selectable damping. Flat as a ruler to 10hz.

The least expensive kit there can be had for $350 and shipping.
