Heres the design so far with the current wood I already have cut. Keep in mind this drawing took 2 seconds and is a VERY rough draft.

I plan to add Piece C to the mix. Piece C will be an 18.5" square of 3/4" MDF to overlap Piece A on the top and bottom, and the side walls. I'll need four pieces total. Any approval will help, making the trip to HD or Lowes tomorrow to get some more pieces cut. Thanks guys! you've been great! Any other thoughts?

Edit: Now i see the similarities to rabbetting..

I got a dumb question. It seems like most of the shelf bracing I see uses square cutouts. Why not use a router with your circle jig? For those without routers I understand. Is it so the braces take up less volume?

Just something I've always wondered about is all.

fraDcat, I dont think it matters either way, round or square would be good.

I took the circle “route†myself.
