I'm not sure what the point of this thread is given that nobody knows crap about the rooms you heard them in, the amps or receivers driving them and the software you were playing on them.
Hey, not to sound like a big baby, the thread is still amusing, I just don't think anyone should read this as a list of speakers to avoid or even mildly let this taint their view.
I have heard the Def Tech flagship System sound amazing playing Jurrassic Park and Star Wars
I have heard the Klipsch THX Ultra2 System sound awesome playing LOTR:ROTK
I have heard the Paradigm Studio line and think they are of good value when drivin in the right environment.
I have heard Totems which are very musical speakers and nice on the ear
basically I have heard many excellent systems, All have there strengths and weaknesses.
The Def Techs blew me away watching movies at a buddies house, while playing music other than bass heavy hip hop they were very lackluster.
Klipsch same as above, but only the THX line. I personally haven't heard there other speakers really make me wanna listen to them again.
So when you pick speakers ask yourself, what % will be movies or music. Me im a 90% movies/ 10% music so I tend to like speakers geared towards HT usage more. Others are different and these are only MY opinions.
