Inside stuffing, what is the best?

Fiberglass, rigid or in batts?

Foam, egg crate or flat?

Which would be best in a sealed enclosure?

i use fiberfil... it's the white stuff that goes into pillows and quilts. get it at wal-mart. fiberglass makes me itch just looking at it.

I didn't stuff mine, I just lined it with fiberfill. Brian Ding @ Rythmik doesn't recommend stuffing, just lining. Seems that somewhere I read some detailed comments from him on this, but right now all I can find is what's in his FAQ, along with the recommendation on the main servo page to line the walls with 2" polyfill. I went to Hancock Fabrics, because there's one right by my office... they had quite a selection of both loose fill and batt type, but they didn't have any 2". I ended up using the thickest they have, which I think was 1.25-1.5", and lined all the interior walls with it:

I only use pure goose down due to the warm sound.

Well I cant say I'm crazy about certain fills. In my short experience with fill, it seams as though adding fiberglass batts was a a little like eqing above the cross. Your not serious about the goose down though are you Jack? :) Your dryer than myself at times so who's to know? :o

I'm occasionally asked "Jack, how do we know when you're being serious?" (I'm much drier in person). I always say "If my lips are moving...I'm kidding".

FWIW, I use "Acousta-stuff" I got from PE years ago. I move it from sub to sub as I get bored with them. :)

Depends on what you are doing. For woofers? For midrange? Are you changing
box volume ? Trying to mimimize standing waves? If it was ported, the recipe
could be different too.

How does 1.5" rigid fiberglass sound for lining the inside of the box.
I wouldn't use rigid. It's too dense. It will end up reducing your effective internal volume, and may even cause some coloration due to less linear compression of the acoustic compression.
