I thought this show was awful
at first. The only reason I was watching it was to support Buffy alum Allyson Hannigan (Bones and Kitchen Confidential are/were also on my viewing slate for the same reason) and Neal Patrick Harris (after his great
performance in Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle).
But now the show is getting better. The laugh track is distracting since, like last night, there are several funny moments when they don't use it, but instead wait until the end of jokes. Usually, the lead-ups to the punchlines are infinitely funnier than the punchlines themselves. I really dislike being told when to laugh: we recognize what's funny a lot more than those producers.
NPH makes the show, and last night he was a star
! Ted almost always annoys me, although now that he's getting some he's much less tiresome.
And yes: this show has one of the highest-quality HD feeds on TV right now.
