How I Met Your Mother - CBS HD - Page 33

Wrong quote, I was attempting to quote someone that predicted Barney and Robin since season 1..
The Time Travelers was probably the best episode of the season, if not the past several seasons.

It hit home on an emotional level as well as being funny, and it also is a top episode of the series as far as providing the most information about the Mother. Only a handful of episodes left this season, and unless they throw us for a curveball we're going to finally meet her in May.

Got to agree, My finger hesitated over the "delete" button, and I opted to save it to rewatch again at some point. that is unusual for me.

Just hit me watching this episode who the actress playing the teenaged daughter was; Lyndsy Fonseca (Alex in Nikita). Guess it must have been common knowledge on this thread.

Yeah- pretty much an established fact.

I've always hoped they bring her back live for the final episode...
They filmed an epilogue with the kids back in season 2, knowing they would grow up before the show ended. It would be interesting if Lyndsey was brought back as the actual mother, though (she'd be the right age).

Indeed, daughter looking just like her mother is not that uncommon...

So the wedding on HIMYM time is May 25th right? so we are right on the money, some day in April, add 45 days = May 25

Another body part shown, and her current boyfriend (that's a huge clue now)
Well apparently it's someone he already knows, has met or dated.

Why do you say that?

Because he knows where she lives and knew she had a boyfriend.

Remember that when he started at Columbia, he met Cindy, a graduate student, and dated her for a while. This was Rachel Bilson. She ended things when she read the school policy on dating professors, but Ted's future wife ("The Mother") was her roommate.

When he tried to get her back, all of the things in Cindy's room Ted noticed were things that belonged to his future wife. But that episode was 4 years ago now. And that's when we saw the Mother's ankle as she was getting out of the shower.

And wasn't the whole thing with that yellow umbrella tied in there?

Yes, Ted found the umbrella at a nightclub, and ended up leaving it there that night with the mother.

You do realize that whole part was what he "wished he had done" so he could have had even more time with the kids' mother. He didn't actually go to the apartment, and in the main timeline he still doesn't realize that his future wife actually lives there (although he is familiar with the apartment as the others have pointed out), and he still hasn't really met her.

The way that episode ended I almost wonder if his wife/ the childrens' mother is dead in the future, since he wanted 45 more days with her so bad.
But no one knows perhaps Barney and Robin's wedding was the right place to meet her, not 45 days earlier when she was dating that other guy, perhaps she breaks up with the guy a day before that wedding and she's free to date Ted

I've seen that interpretation from some fans, but I took it as Ted just being lonely at that time, feeling left behind by his closest friends with their relationships now dominating things, and wanting that feeling for himself.

The whole point is that in the year 2030, Ted loves his wife very much, and he loves her so much that he wishes he had met her on that April day in 2013 when he was really sad, and gotten to spend an additional 45 days with her. Instead, he meets her at the wedding, 45 days later. He would still love his wife either way, it's just that since she is "the one", he would have liked an additional 45 days with her. Looking back on it from the year 2030, he wishes that his lonely younger self wasn't lonely on that day.

I also do not think she is dead in 2030... I think Ted is just a romantic guy who really loves his wife, and would rather have met her sooner rather than later. Of course the "right time and place" is going to be Barney and Robin's wedding, but that's beside the point.

Tonight's the night. Who will she be?
I'm rooting for Casey Wilson, Happy endings cancelled and she could be on all season 9...

But I'm bet it's going to be an undisclosed actress we haven't seen before..

If they don't reveal the mother I'm tossing my remote (to the side I love my bigscreen)

Ugh... I do not like her, and was glad when she got canned from SNL.
OK, so we saw her, but I do not have a clue who she is.....

She is cute though..

she is Cristin Milioti , lots of credits but nothing for HIMYM.

I remember her character on 30Rock, the new writer the men go crazy for who is actually hiding from her stalker husband, and also her memorable character in web series "Burning Love" in which she wears nothing below the waist for the entire season...

That's the season finale? That's it?

Can someone remind me how long before the season ended they knew they'd have a season after this one?
She's not that bad looking, and like predicted never seen her before.

I can't wait for season 9.

She's OK looking but nowhere near as drop-dead gorgeous as Robin.

Disappointed in the mother reveal too. Thought Ted would end up with a much-hotter blonde wife. Robin, Stella, Victoria and the Captain's ex were better looking in my opinion.

She is pretty/beautiful. NOT gorgeous. And that isn't an insult either smile.gif
