anyone have an issue where their instant queue gets reordered? I have Battlestar Gallactica at the top of my queue so I can easily access it, yet it randomly gets put at the end.

Internet streaming delivery was always in their business plan. It just wasn't viable for them to do so until recently. But the idea of it was there from day one.

(It's also why they chose the name Netflix. It wasn't just the online queues for DVDs.)

There's a window of availability at most shipping centers in the morning hours when specific discs can change from available to unavailable according to check-ins and check-outs and the order that customers are placed in that queue for check-out. During those hours, the actual availability changes much faster than your online queue will update. Discs marked available may not ship and discs marked "long wait" may ship. It's not a great conspiracy, just a case of the online queue not updating by the minute.

Thanks .. the disc that should have shipped still showed available in my Q 6 hours after the lower Q disc shipped .. I know it's not a conspiracy, it just seemed odd that the same thing happened twice in the last week and had never happened before ..

It happens all the time. They seem to occasionally remove a movie from the streaming service for a few minutes, then when available add it back to the end of your queue.

Again, the online queue does not update in any regular or comprehensible fashion. I sometimes get emails that something has shipped before the online queue even shows it is shipping.

ugh. very annoying.

I had three get removed today (put into my saved section), then they went back into my streaming queue....but in the original order I had them.

I have had titles jump around here and there though for some odd reason. I always assume it's my wife messing with it just to annoy me.

That would be awesome if my stupid XBOX wasn't broken (and since I just broke my foot over the weekend, it would be even more awesome if the xbox was working).

Thankfully I have the PS3 to hold me over while I spend a few days on the couch.

Uh..... k. So they flipped? Now unlimited DVDs is cheaper, and streaming + DVD is raising in price.

Streaming has been saving them TONS in postage and yet they feel the need to screw people who have supported them for a long time. Take the streaming only money and back off. At this point I'm already paying extra for Blu-ray, which is ridiculous. They are not getting new catalog titles on blu-ray at all as of 2011, so all my blu-ray charge goes towards new releases which I cannot stream, so I'm forced to pay for the discs if I want to see them anyway. And now you want to raise the price on the few movies I have left that I can get on blu-ray that I have not seen.

I have streaming only anyhow. Now that it seems like "the honeymoon is over with BB (again)" I just might pair my steaming only with Red Box utilization.
that's good for you, i guess. But i like new releases on blu-ray, and I don't have a car so red box isn't an option for me.

I wouldn't mind the extra $8 a month streaming fee if Netflix hadn't crippled the streaming interface for the PS3. The current interface makes it impossible to browse their entire streaming catalog, you are only presented with a limited number of categories and within each category they only give you 75 options.

isn't there search on PS3 still? Pretty sure there is on mine.

From the get go, I have populated my stream Q with a PC .. it's so much easier and always has been ..

Yes, you can search by title only. No searching by actor, director, or genre.

Why should I have to use my PC to populate my streaming Q?? I should be able to sit down, turn on my TV/PS3, and browse for a movie by genre.

I'm not telling you to do anything .. just offering a suggestion based on my own experience .. sorry, I thought that's what AVS was for ..

Why do they make this change and not admit it's to bring in more revenue? Why do they pretend it's being done to offer us more "choices". Why must people lie?

pretty sure each device makes its own, so that might just be a Sony issue. They are trying a bunch of different interfaces on the PS3.

On my Tivo Premiere, I can search by genre.

When does any major company admit to greed instead of calling it more choices .. ??

And, essentially, they are really not lying ..

Oh yeah, that makes it okay
I have higher standards.

Bullsh!t.

Essentially, they are charging $15.98 for what was $9.98 - You are welcome to swallow whatever they feed you, I'm not.

Yeah .. take it out on another AVS member .. like I have anything to do with NF pricing .. I'm sure they will feel it when you cancel ..

And thinly veiled profanity really becomes you ..

It gets to the point sometimes on this Forum that civility is a lost art ..

I'm disappointed in the number of newer Netflix movies that aren't available for streaming. It didn't take me long at all to go through the most current movies, and they aren't that current, available for streaming. If they're going to charge that price I want more current movies to justify it.

I'd prefer to watch all movies on BD, but in some instances the movie doesn't necessitate the best PQ possible. Streaming also allows me to get a glimpse of the movie, and if I'm really sold on it then I can rent the BD if I so choose.

I'm wondering if anyone has ever calculated what a full streaming catalog with new material week in and week out would cost on a monthy subscription basis .. ??

You might give VUDU a try .. it's a $5.99 free credit to sign up and the catalog allows previews / trailers as well as a 2 minute sneak peak glimpse on many titles ..

everyone knows that bulk pricing for the masses costs much less than ala carte per movie, though. Same with insurance costs - it's spread among those who use it more and those who use it less or not at all.
