Speaker cabs of a different style....

Wow!! Who know there was a newly created form for diy speakers. I orginally posted this to the DIY ..... and got no responses for over 3 weeks. But anyways here is a design that I thought might intrigue someone looking for something different for their next speaker build. My interest in presenting this is for the box design that can be used for a lot of speaker builds with volumes that suit this type of build. I used Peerless drivers for this particular build. I tried them with an old Dynaco amp I have and they sound great. I've built other designs that are not the usual box style. That's the beauty of DIY, you have creative control.

I didn't finish these as my brother-in-law wants to do that himself.

MCH, is there any chance you might post some construction details (plans ;) ) if some us wanted to build something like that?

Time wise it didn't take too long. The most time consuming was getting all the angles (especially compound ones) in the finishing detail. I build furniture as a hobby so woodworking is getting a little easier.
As for plans. Well I'm afraid I don't have the patience for a step by step layout explanation. The best I can suggest is visualize what you're doing and lay it out on paper. I'll make several drawings and then finalize the details on paper before I start the actual build. This build is basically a inner cabinet of 3/4" MDF with a 1/4" layer of veneering. The stands are made of 1" laminated mahogany (2 layers). There is a hidden channel to conceal the wire going up to the drivers.

hopefully this will give some inspiration to others for their build.
