I ordered ten capacitors from Erse to redo the crossovers in my NHT Super Twos and the shipping came to $9.22 for UPS ground to Indianapolis. I didn't think that was too high. Their estimated shipping when you have items in your cart will be something like $15 until later in the order process.
Well, since Erse requires a $20 min order that ruled them out anyway. I did manage to pop off the connection cups on both the 600 and 400 and the specs on the caps are indeed the same, although they are not identical caps. The one in the 400 is a bit larger. Anyway, I ordered 6 from Parts Express (2 extras).
Nothing appears out of line on the crossover for the 600 with the bad rear tweets. Going off a post from Jamie on page 35 of this thread, the brown and blue wires (that should run to the rear tweets) are connected. Haven't knocked off the top block yet to make sure the connections are correct to the tweets themselves. Will try and get to that tomorrow. So unless there is a connection problem somewhere up top or the resistor is bad, the tweets should be the culprits. I have already ordered 2 off ebay. If it turns out the tweets are OK and it is just a wiring/resistor problem, then I will have 2 spairs. When I get the top off and peel down the sock and make sure the connections appear proper, I will attempt to remove the rear tweets and place them in the front position to see if they are good or not.
This rookie is learning a few things! I just hope I can fix this sucker!
