The same reason theres not just one format.......greed by all involved;)
Instead of a universal, an agreed upon unified format would have been ideal.
Buy both ...and in the process, send the message that its okay to have format wars.
Buy one, and your also sending the message that its ok to have format wars when theres not even close to being enough support for one.
I guess that those that buy neither are probably sending the message all of these companies deserve.
Question is...do you have the will power to wait for a winner, or a possible universal some day....because I certainly don't. :)
