No thanks. Don't give in TW.

Let's compare audience interest between football and what you like to watch.

What's the date today? Is it really September 21 or is it April 1? Because it almost sounds like an April Fool's Day joke to me biggrin.gif

We're all doomed!
Awesome!

I am so happy right now.

My guess is they will work today and tomorrow to finalize it so they can have RedZone for everyone by Sunday.

Now, we will all have to pick a new channel to have on top of our wish lists.

John Ourand of The Sports Business Journal is confirming the deal and that it includes Bright House.

So NFL Network on basic - Red Zone on sports tier

I remember when they signed ESPN HD one morning 7-8 years ago. They had it on that afternoon.

They could do it by today, tonight or tomorrow but it is expected by Sunday.

In all likelyhood, they were likely preparing for the possibility of the channel and are likely ready to go with a press release and uploading the channels when the deal is signed.

I don't really think it is going to happen.

So, anyone want to stop celebrating for just a few moments and take bets on how much every subscriber's monthly bill will increase to pay for the NFL Network? $1, $2, $5? Because judging from how the League is trying to nickle and dime its part-time officials (all the while claiming to be soooo concerned about "player safety"), it's clearly just not making enough money as it is. All of us TWC customers should want to contribute a few more sheckles to ending that terrible injustice. I know I can't wait to see my next bill and dig a little deeper for those extra 16 games a year (formerly 6). I mean, what else is there to watch on Thursdays? And how long before Tuesdays and Wednesdays join the club? (Maybe when they go to an 18 game season, eh?)

All hail the NFL! It's their world, we just live in it. rolleyes.gif

My guess is they got it for close to the going rate of $.75-.$.81 per sub. Do you really think your bill wasn't going up anyway? Hell, mine went up by $10/mo recently. I'll gladly pay this to finally get something that every other cable/satellite customer already has.

I agree. Our bills go up every year, new channels or not. For me personally, I think cable is a bargain and having NFLN and Red Zone is icing on the cake.

Is NFL Red Zone worth it? As a cable sub that's never experienced it, I have to ask. In other words is it worth the extra $6/mo? I already have the digital tier and all but I'm sure TWC will make me buy the sports pass in order to get the Redzone channel so I'll have a decision to make
post #8958 of 9360
I have the sports pass. It depends if you really like sports or not. To me it's worth it because I get to see all my local teams on the local RSN's, I get NBCSports Network which shows hockey and has some pretty good talk shows related to sports, the NHL channel and quite a few others. I am a huge sports nut so for me the choice was easy.

not sure how many other regions have this option - but here you can get HDXTra (which includes sports pass) in a package with an HDDVR for $15 a month.

your local sports + NBCSN shouldn't be part of the sports pass

Doh! You're right, I was thinking of BTN and all those extra channels. That's what I pay extra for.
Yay!!
I can't believe this day actually came. TWC stripped NFL network away from me when Adelphia died, and now it's finally back.

BTW:

It's Official!

http://nflcommunications.com/2012/09/21/time-warner-cable-bright-house-networks-sign-multi-year-deals-to-carry-nfl-network-nfl-redzone/

Beginning this Sunday September 23, with full launch before Thursday, September 27.

I cannot wait to get the channel numbers from my area.

The cost is relative if you look at what else we pay for. Fox News is a bout $.95 a month and I do not ever watch it so why should I pay for it? It just is what it is.

So others can. duh

And that is the point about the NFL Network -- pay attention to what is being written!

I’ve had the Sports Pass forever. Way back when it was a whole $1.95/month extra, but included only like 6 or 7 channels. Fuel TV, Tennis Channel, NBA TV and the three Fox Sports Diginets. I never really watched much on those channels but for only $2 buck extra, I figured what the hell, if I watch one thing a month it would be worth it. Now at $6/month and a ton more channels, I wouldn’t think of not having the Sports Pass. NHL Network alone is worth it for me, plus Big Ten Network, PAC 12 Network, MLB Strike Zone and now NFL Red Zone.

I’d say Red Zone alone would be worth the extra $6/month. And come January, you could always cancel the Sports Pass and resume again in Fall 2013. You’d essentially be $24/year for NFL Red Zone, $30 at most. For the previous two seasons, I’ve watched NFL Red Zone on my phone using the NFL Mobile app from Verizon. Sprint is my cell provider, and I was used a hacked version of the app that allowed me to install, use and stream content from the app, but I was unable to find an updated hacked version. So this year I’ve been watching DirecTVs version of the Red Zone channel, and while it’s okay. I like the overall presentation of the real Red Zone Channel better. So I am absolutely thrilled this deal finally got done. The NFL Network was never a big deal to me, although, since they have more games this year, I thought they deserved to be carried, but NFL Red Zone has always been what sparked my interests in getting this deal done between the NFL and Time Warner.

Glad to see this is done, can’t wait to get the channels up and running!

And I don't ask to have you pay extra for what I might watch (which, in reality, really isn't that much).
