Dual tuner DVR. Pause on one or both tuners depending on whether you want to check other programming or take a bathroom break.

Do this at your own risk depending on what version of the Guide you are running. Many confirmations of the dual live buffers disappearing. I've been having it since the update to 5.2.0_9. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't.

ROFL! I am with ya on that point biggrin.gif.

Around 4 PM my local headend must of got the memo late. Because they turned it off on me. (Redzone) I like it, but not enough to add the Sports Pass to my package.
RedZone still on for me. I bet it won't last.
I got to enjoy about an hour of free Redzone and then the fun ended. Ended up ordering the sports pass just to get Redzone though.
they finally got the channels working - just when the games ended for the day....

also - guys - again - check and see if you should be getting HDXtra intread of just the sports pass - it may be cheaper (and you get more)

Yeah! biggrin.gif Nice timing - man oh man the fast switching around, zero commercials, and some of the games themselves (Lions/Titans for example) were unbelievable.

Who needs to watch one game, when you can see the fun of all the games! "The Whiparound" on steroids! And legal too. biggrin.gifcool.gif

I do it with a TiVo HD. I wouldn't trust TWs equipment to do something like that.

$6/month...$1.50/week. Is that really going to break the bank? Values like that, now that RZC is included, are hard to come by these days.

It is a huge value! You spend way more than that for a 2 hour movie at a theater and for $1.50 for 7 hours of entertainment? You cannot beat it.

This Summer, Time Warner Cable gave us a week or so of all of the Showtime and The Movie Channel offerings. When the free sample ended, all of the channels disappeared except for two. Showtime (primary channel) and TMC Xtra remained. I can't understand why, but they have not been taken away even months later. Does anyone else on TWC have this situation?

Back in April and early May TWC did the same here in El Paso letting things pass unencrypted over basic cable, only it was the main HBO and SHOWTIME channels with both HD and SD feeds (east and west coast), and then several CINEMAX, STARZ, ENCORE and other minor HBO channels all in SD. It lasted about 4 weeks. Then all but the main HBO and SHOWTIME HD channels disappeared. Once it was down to just HBO and SHOWTIME, I posted about it on the El Paso forum and that night even they disappeared. My suggestion, keep it to yourself. Nothing like getting something for free from someone who regularly shafts you.

I still haven't received anything regarding the upcoming monthly rental fees for the cable modem. I have already had this modem for more than 2 years--so they shouldn't be charging me for something that has already been expensed. The modem I had before that I had for 10 years, without them once saying "Hey, we have a newer modem you can use. Bring that old one in and get a newer one." So now they want to charge me for old equipment just because they are issuing newer equipment to others. Enough of my ranting.

A couple of friends in nearby towns also have these 2 channels so it's not localized to this area. Maybe the idea is to let people get hooked good and proper and then yank it away. Actually, I'm finding that I was not missing much. It's nice to be able to check them out, but there's plenty of other programming available that serves the purpose. Of course, if they had something going like The Sopranos and yanked the channels, I suppose it might cause me a little concern.

Not exactly related to HD channel additions, but sometime between adding NFL Network and now Time Warner Cable updated their website.

If someone wants to point me in the direction of programming changes please do so, because I can't find the link anymore

Need to find it in your area. Los Angeles is http://www.timewarnercable.com/SoCal/learn/programming/local/alerts.html . Try search "time warner programming alerts" + your division name. /Dan

So, the latest antics with Warner for me now is they have taken away several sports channels like Big ten, CBS sports and Fox sports atlantic and want me to pay $6 extra for these channels that everyone had been getting with HD cable. I know exactly what this is about... This is about them adding NFL network, and they are making us now pay for these other sports channels because NFL network is costing that much to be on basic. SCUM.
Odd, our TWC division has always had BTN in the sports pack and since TWC Sportsnet arrived on the scene and having an agreement with CBSSN to simulcast games on TWCSN, that CBSSN moves into the variety pack (still available on the Sports Pass).

those channels were always supposed to be on a sports tier not in the HD tier they probably realized the error and fixed it.

Any one besides me with Time-Warner Cable in the Erie, Northeast Ohio area having the following issue. A number of channels, such as Lifetime HD, We HD, E! HD, and others are not available. When I tune to one of these channels I get a screen with the channel logo and a notice that says "LIFETIME HD is currently unavailable, please try again later.", or substitute other channel names and logos. I've talked to TWC tech support and they've eliminated signal problems on my end, or problems with my digital boxes, and have escalated the problem to engineering. This has been going on for two days now. (I'm new to this thread, so I hope this post is appropriate, if not please direct me to a thread that is...thanks.)

Pac-12 Los Angeles HD, Pac-12 Arizona HD, Pac-12 Washington HD, Pac-12 Oregon HD, Pac-12 Mountain HD and Pac-12 Bay Area HD.
NESN HD, World Fishing Network HD, beIN Sports HD, beIN Sports en Español HD coming 11/1 to NYC

not sure if we should have a section on the first page for regional sports networks that are being added nationwide (especially since they don't have and major pro league games) - NYC already has the new TWC Sportsnet from LA (and Deportes).

Do we also want to list all the PAC-12 channels.

Well, I've been away from home for about a month. When I fire up the TV, I notice that NFL Network, and Pac-12 LA aren't available. Call Customer No-service, the screens say. So I call, and after about twenty minutes of uselessness, the lady tells me I'll need a truck roll, arriving on Tuesday. Never had a situation where I couldn't get something like this cleared up almost immediately over the telephone. I guess there's always a first time.

lol Just when i thought my list was simple. you through the wrench in it. does the big 12 HD channels have names like pac 12?

Andy,

The Big Ten Network has just has two alternates that are BTN Alternate 1 and BTN Alternate 2.

Also, Bright House gets all of their deals via Time Warner Cable. Maybe a small list of HD channels on or announced for BHN that are not on Time Warner Cable? It is not many channels but could give a hint to some possibilities for TWC..

Big 10 has dropped half of their alternates... noticed 1 was gone a week or 2 ago, and now a 2nd one is.

So, the tech guy comes today, and almost immediately realizes it's not a tech issue, it's a billing issue (so, original customer-no-service advice: fail).

He calls the appropriate department, and then explains to me that my bundle doesn't include NFL Network and Pac-12 LA. I try and explain that NFL Network is supposed to be available to all digital cable subscribers, which is what the battle between TWC and the NFL was all about. He says that wasn't the real reason for their lack of a contract, but I wasn't in the mood to hear about it, so I didn't press him.

So I went online and showed him the channel lineup for TW Desert Cities, which showed NFL Network and Pac-12 LA as being part of the Variety Pack, which I supposedly had. He said I didn't have the full/complete/whatever-he-called-it Variety Pack, and according to who he was talking to on the phone it would cost $8/month to add those channels (which, by the way, is exactly the cost of the Sports Pass).

Well, after he left, I did some investigating, and noted that I was receiving all of the Variety Pack channels except for: NFL Network, Pac-12 LA and, surprisingly, two Spanish channels: Mun2 and ESPN Deportes. Something's not right here.

Am I nuts, or are they nuts (I'm pretty sure they are, but I'm not looking forward to battling the TWC establishment just to prove my point)?

By the way, just before the tech guy left, he took the remote and started looking over some of my cable-box settings. Great, I thought, maybe he'll find something I neglected to set correctly and fix it for me. After he walked out the door, I looked at the TV, which was on ESPN HD, and noticed that he'd put the picture on "stretched", which I then had to undo. Nice little WTF moment there.

TWC added the Fox Movie Channel to basic digital a few days ago on our system. This is a nice extra movie channel to have available, but their is something unusual about it. It appears that it is a 16:9 picture with the left and right sides clipped off. You can tell because the beginning of written credits on the left side does not appear and neither does the ending of the Fox Movie Channel logo on the right side. The picture that does show is of course not high definition.

I'm wondering if, perhaps, a high definition channel is on the way, but requiring a subscription (to get the full picture and hd).

Anybody have thoughts on this?

We have had Fox Movie channel here in Cincinnati on channel 279 of some time. I'm not sure which tier its on. I just looked at it, and it looks like its windowboxed (black borders on all 4 sides). The HD edition of it is not on our system. But if it was available, TWC would likely include it with the same tier because they have "no fee HD".
