Here's the link to the firmware updates:

[url=http://www.pasctraining.panasonic.com/SpecialApplications/ProductFirmwareDownloads/downloads1.asp][u]Panasonic Firmware Upgrade Downloads (Click Here)

I have been trying to download the updated firmware (PX60_Genx_v1_25.exe) for my Panasonic TH-42PX60U. I've gone to the link for panasonic: but I am not able to download the update. (The site doesn't seem to allow me to get the update. I've tried "save target as" as well as clicking on the download link, but with no success.

Any ideas of another location for the firmware, or another way to get the update?

Thanks.

I have the Panny 50px60u and a Dish Vip622 dvr. I tried all the remote codes for panasonic listed in the manual but cannot find one that will get the tv/video button to work. I'm currently using code 644 and all the other functions seem to work fine, but I want to be able to switch inputs using this remote also. Has anyone else ran into this and figured it out?

I just wanted to jump in and say that my Panny 58PX600u is now officially 2 yrs old.

I LOVE THIS MACHINE!!! I still smile every day as I pass by my living room and see it sitting there, waiting to faithfully reproduce gorgeous HD at my command.

Ok, the gist is that I have been very very happy with this purchase.

Anyone else care to chime in about their set after a year or two of service? Any tips of changing pic quality? Mine is still very very good with my original Aria acquired settings.

Look forward to your thoughts

Huhexxer,
You are not alone in feeling VERRRRRRRY good about having gotten the 600u. While mine is a 50", (and will be approaching its 4th birthday in my house) it still IMHO produces one of the finest pictures of all those that I have seen in other homes.

Bottom line: ENJOY~

I have the 42PX60U and I'm also very happy with my purchase. :-) The picture still manages to amaze friends and family.

My only regret is that the price dropped by about 2/3rds only a few months after I bought it. Oh, well, the price of early adoption....

The 50pz800u I just bought a couple of months ago cost me the same as my 42px60u that I bought two and a half years ago. Both are amazing. The PX has never failed to please me in all this time.

I've had the 42PX60U for two years now and still have a hard time believing how good the color saturation and overall picture quality is with this set. I would definitely buy it again.

My 4 year old 50PX60U is still the envy of all my friends. I'll be getting a 42" soon for the bedroom and there's no doubt it will be another Panny.

I have the 50" too - and I guess it is about 3 years old now give or take. No problems at all. About my only criticism is the cable card capability (which I originally bought it for) was a total dud. So was the the "built-in" TV guide. Had lots of problems with both. Haven't had any problems since I got rid of the cable card and switched over to a Comcast HD/DVR box. Have an older smaller Sony in the master bedroom - and the cable card in that TV works a lot better. I hope that TV companies come up with something in the way of smaller TVs that can get high-def and the like without separate set-top boxes because - for example - I have a first generation Sharp Aquos in my kitchen which I reckon is getting close to the end of its useful life. I can hide the box in the wall unit in my living room - but don't care to clutter up my kitchen counter with one. Robyn

My 58PX600U started to have some issues with power :-(

I called Costco concierge as it was still under the extended two year warranty period and was told that I was grandfathered into their previous policy and that the best solution was to return the TV for a full refund! Huh?

I ran to the store and returned the faulty device and now am awaiting delivery (tomorrow) of a new TH-58PZ800U. I can't wait! While I am saddened by the loss of my 600U (my living room looks so empty without it) I am excited at the prospect of having 1080p and the black finish!

I hope that my problem was an isolated issues and that other 600U owners don't have the same issue.

You hit the jackpot on this deal! Just curious, how much did the 58PX600U cost when you bought it? Your refund is probably a lot more than the cost of a new 58PZ800U isn't it? Yes? Score!

Unless, of course, they bought it at Costco and can get a full refund

I love Costco. That's where I bought both my plasma TVs.

I want a 54" or 58" Panny. I don't need gimicks, and have a $2300 budget.

Which one?

The current 58" model is the TH-58PZ800U and 850U. Some people have found them for your budget price. It's actually last year's 11G model but it's replacement (the V10 model) won't be released till probably late summer. The lower-end S1 series will also be available in the 58" size. The 58S1 will be several hundred bucks above your budget, and the V10 will be about a grand above your budget.

The 54" size is new and right now your only choices are the TC-P54S1 and the next level up is the TC-P54G10. If they are not out yet, then they will be available soon. These will outperform the PZ800U/PZ850U in virtually every category. The G10 has about 15 features and abilities that the S1 does not have (some are gimmicky, but some are useful) and i think it's worth the higher price over the S1, and seems to be the best bang for the buck in their new lineup.

Hello,

I just purchased the Panasonic TC-P54S1. It is set to be delivered on Friday, but I have a question that I'm trying to find the answer for before it gets delivered and I'm hoping someone can help me. Do anyone own this model that could measure the stand size for me? The media center I have may need to be adjusted, but I'm not sure because I cannot find the measurements for just the stand anywhere. The width is the most important.

Thanks so much for any help!

Guys,

I installed a Panny X1 this week and was underwhelmed. I also visited homes with a 50U and a 60U and was blown away by the PQ; Detail, 3D pop, picture window effect, etc. I also visited my Brother who has an 8G Pio Elite and again was very underwhelmed by the flat, soft Pio look (sorry

Were the 50/60 U's considered special in the PQ department? I have a 6K NEC (Mits) Plasma that I'm spoiled by but the early Pannys still impress.

Is the energy saver (lower power) an issue with the "pop" factor? Anti-Glare screen??

thx,

bob

My brother just gave me his old panasonic th-50px600u and xbox 360. The 360 is hooked up to component. I noticed a bit of overscan. Is there anyway to fix this? I looked in the menu but there doesn't seem to be any settings. I tried contacting panasonic but they didn't help.

Unfortunately there is no way to adjust the overscan on this model, not even in the Service Menu. Whatever amount of overscan you're seeing is what you're stuck with.

PD60U / PX60U / PX600U.. :

* ..Hold Down the " Volume (-) " button ON THE PLASMA
* ..Press the "RECALL" button on the Remote Control 3 times
* ..Use the "1" or "2" buttons on the remote to go up/down and select "OPTION".
* ..Press and hold the MUTE key on the remote for 3 seconds.
..TIME ...= Hours of Operation (Hex Numbers)
..COUNT = How many times the Plasma was powered on
* ..Switch off the power to exit the service menu.

HI,

I'm going to be using a receiver (not bought yet) with the TH42PZ80U but I am finding there are AV sync issue with the Prog Out and Digital Out watching OTA.

The sound from those outs doesn't sync with the video. The sync being out is small but it's enough, and using the Digital Out is bad enough to make it be unwatchable.

Are the audio-outs in advance of the video so they can be sync'ed with a delay setting in a receiver?

What solutions, settings and receivers have other used?

HELP!!

TIA

I'm using the Component/RGB In (Slot 3) for a DishNetwork DVR, and have the Signal (under Settings) selected to Component. A problem just started a week ago where the screen is tinted completely green on power up. I discovered that the Signal was selected to RGB, switched back to Component and all was well.

Except a couple days later, when the screen was green again, I found that the input was again selected to RGB.

Has anyone experienced this problem where the display switches to RGB on it's own, when it should be Component? Any help with troubleshooting or fixes is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
