As a circuit city employee we are still waiting for these guys to come in and i cant wait. Love selling the panasonics. One thing though to mention is that our price is actually 300 bucks cheaper as listed in our system so you might want to watch out for that....

does anyone know if you can order the 600u from BB or maybe their Magnolia store. If so, when they are available can you do it without going there in person because I live in the NYC and the closest one is in NJ.

What part of the country are you in?. Here in the deep south (Louisiana) we are usually the last to get anything.. Keep us posted when you start getting then in.. My local BB and CC have no clue when they will start getting them in.. Thanks

Could you elaborate more on this? This feature is the most important addition to the new Panny's. Is it at least comparable to the Pioneer 5060 or Toshiba HP95 stretch modes for HD sources?

i know of at least 3 bb's in nyc, 23rd st, 43rd or 44th st, and soho.

how would the 60U look with a black stand instead of silver? I like the overall look, just wish it was all black. I'm a little hesitant to paint the actual panel, but the stand should be easy.

Is it foolish to put money down and order the 50" 600u? Ken Cranes is accepting orders, and I know what I want. In the Torrance,CA area we also have BB, CC and Magnolia. I expect to pay MSRP since I have plasma fever.

I am deciding between the 60u and 600u, but may lean towards the later one because of the pc input.

Will this work with the 60u regarding PC. I know that the s-video will work from cpu to tv, but can I use a DVI to HDMI cable from computer cpu to HDMI input on TV. Is this okay or should I just get the 600u for the vga input.

Somewhere there was a reference to "16-bit Maximum Processing" posted next to the 3072 grayscale steps. Does anyone remember seeing that, and does that mean that the next version of the commercial panels will have 16-bit processing and 8192 grayscale steps? Can anyone make sense of these numbers?

If the bottom casing which houses the speakers comes off it could be done.

If I am not mistaken going from DVI->HDMI is not a problem.

Its going the other way that poses problems for some sets. Since a HDMI port will take a signal that is not encrypted just fine you should be ok with going from DVI on the computer to HDMI on the set.

Keep in mind though you will be using up a hdmi port (I already have my two ports used up for the DVD player and cable box).

I would use HDMI port for dvd player and the other for the DVI ->HDMI. watching cable thru component.
