It is not a glitch in the game. People are not looking in the streets for the enemies. Every enemy post has at least 3 guys, 2 normal guys and 1 anti tank guy. One guy might end hiding behind something or laying ont he ground. Make sure you shoot all of them or else the tanks will not move forward. I have had to explain this to everyone on my friends list so many times.

I think it's a real glitch. I've had the tanks roll up and park in the second checkpoint, and take out the transport truck parked there, but there's no other enemies there and they won't go around the corner because the anti-tank guy at the last checkpoint would have a shot at them. Unless, maybe, that guy from the second checkpoint ran around the corner where neither you nor the tanks can get him, but then, that would still seem to be a glitch in the program, since you can't pick him off, and the tank can't won't turn the corner until the anti-tank guy at the last checkpoint is cleared. After restarting the mission, I just sniped the anti-tank guy and one gunner at the second checkpoint, and the tanks rolled in and swept up. Then I was able to move to the last section of roof and do the same for the last checkpoint.

It's a glitch.
It does not happen every time.
If you get it the only fix is to restart the level.
You will know it when you get it.

Haha. I posted about this in the technical problem thread a little while ago. I didn't know it when I got it. I just wasted a lot of time running around trying to figure out what the hell I was supposed to do next. My roommate thought I was crazy because I was hurling obscenities at my TV to "show me the way".

Well I ended up beating the game on Normal last night. I was kind of disappointed because, while it took a couple weeks to finish... i only played a few sessions that lasted about an hour each. Overall the game was pretty easy. Maybe I should have started on Hard to begin with.

While playing through the game I came across these three glitches:

1. "Jesus Glitch" - where your player walks around in the "stuck on wall" position until you stick yourself to another wall.

2. The one listed above where you can't get your tanks past the checkpoint area forcing you to restart the level.

3. Got stuck to a wall and could not move off, shoot my weapon, or anything... had to restart level.

I guess what I mean to say is if your aware that this level has a glitch you will know when you have it.
Actually I didn't know at the time either. I also wasted WAY to much time trying to figure out what to do next and even started from the last checkpoint twice before realizing I needed to start the entire level over and hoping it didn't happen again and that was only after reading online about it. DOH!
But if I would have known before hand that a glitch existed I would have definitely saved a lot of wasted time.

I've experienced all three as well.

While I was running around forever stuck in the roof top glitch my player actually at one point was moving around like he was a ghost with his legs straight up and down and not moving them.. Is this same thing your referring to? Actually bumping him back against a wall fixed the problem but it looked very weird.

Yeah, he kind of glides through the air with his arms out-stretched, legs stationary.

I did a different way...
You should be able to get those guys to show up on your map. Tell the tanks to kill them. If the anti-tank guy doesn't blow up one of your tanks, just put the controller down for a while, get a sandwich, and when you come back, those guys at the end of the level will be dead. The black area of the map won't become lit, but you can get to the extraction point.

LB can be used to either go into ASSAULT or RECON mode. However, in RECON mode, they will still fire when fired upon, or when you fire at enemies.

The problem is that sometimes you just want them to hide and not do anything. They always get themselves killed when you enter a street with a bunch of enemies and stand out in the open like willing targets, but they are extremely useful when you want to take down a helicopter, a vehicle, or take out a sniper when you don't have a weapon with a scope.

The trick is to use the up/down buttons, not just RECON mode. If you know a bunch of enemies are around the corner and you want to pick them off one by one yourself, put your team in RECON mode, and then tell them to go to a specific location out of sight from the action (with the up button). Then they just stay there for the most part after you go around the corner and start attacking. If you use the down button (fall back on me) then they will follow you, start firing at the enemy without prompting and usually get themselves killed.

This is perhaps the most unrealistic part of the game. The team mates on this supposed elite special force have near zero concept of taking cover and moving around methodically. Each one should get behind a wall or a car like you do when attacked.

Can anyone tell me how to remove the HUD or teammate view in online multipayer mode? When I go into the start menu for online options I can remove the image from the upper left, but the name still appears (i.e. drone or teammate). That seems like it will be a definite CRT Rear Projection burn-in problem.

OK, super NOOB question on GRAW for ORIGINAL Xbox.

If I'm playing GRAW online with the original xbox, will I be playing against both 360 users and original xbox users?

Other than graphics, is there any advantage to playing one versus the other?
No, only players from the same platform that you are on (XBOX 1 in your case).

Is it possible to have the audio from other people talking to go through the speakers and headset? I play a lot of live with a buddy and we have two headsets but it only lets one work for GRAW. Half the fun is listening to people talk in the lobby before matches but in order to do that we have to pull out the headset..

I guess another option would be one of those conference room phones jacked into the controller

Isn't that an option in the general LIVE personal options in the dashboard? I seem to remember there being on option for sending voices through BOTH headset and speakers.

oh, thanks.. I honestly never thought to check for it there

I just finished the campaign, had to force myself through it to be honest .. I must say I'm disappointed with it.. I was hoping at least a couple levels would be non-city or small town like environments.. I guess you could say one level was semi-jungle style for the first 100 yards but that's about it. I wanted to do some jungle style levels, etc. I now have to go through the "quickstart" (multi-player) objective missions which are on a different engine. These are pretty fun. Overall the game is still more than worth the purchase due to the very addicting online, which runs very smooth. I was just hoping for more variety on the main campaign.

After a ton of fun With Battlefireld 2 I've gottan back to this game. What awesome single player! It really is a ton of fun but challenging at the same time.

yeah that freaked me out also, I have had consoles since the atari 2600 days and I never seen a console ask about updates. When I stuck GRAW in and saw that I thought WTF, I knew it Microsoft develops a console and it needs patches just like a freaking PC. but I hit yes and to my surprised it worked without a network connection.

I wonder if that update is flash related, Although I have a HD on mines.
Updates are occasionally loaded on the game disks, which is why you could update without the network. There was a big hubbub about this w/ the original Xbox when the new Star Wars DVDs shipped with a demo of SW:BF (I think that was the game), and when people w/ modded Xbox's put the disk in, it broke something in thier mod chips (if I remember the details correctly...).

Welcome to the future of consoles.

I thought about starting a new thread but I guess this fits in here.

What's the deal with nobody using a mic during online play? I've had this game since it's release and because of my work schedule I haven't been able to play it online hardly at all. I was on for 2 hours last night and only the first game I played had people using the mic, that host had to quit. None of the games I joined after that had people using their mics. This was the mission based games too, not deathmatch.

Is this the common theme for GRAW online play?
Shaner I think that Live has lots of issues with the headsets...between this game and BF2 all I hear is complaints about not hearing anyone and Mics not working....Beat GRAW last night by the way...LOTS OF FUN!
Can someone enlighten me?
Is there any benifit at all to choosing different teammates instead of just using the defaults in campaign mode?

I know in the old Ghost Recon it mattered because you built up stats for the guys and if one of your high stat guys got hurt then you were left to choose a different person for next mission. However in this game you teammates are healed at the end of each mission and no one builds stats.... so whats the point of the choice?

Also, I already beat the game on normal and am starting on hard. This time around I have decided to take advantage of the AI stupidity and send my guys a head, if they get shot I can heal them... of course they never heal me when I get shot so it seems to be the best way to survive the hard missions where you can die in one shot. The AI in Full Spectrum warrior was 1000X better. I wish they had that AI with this First person gameplay.
I didn't think the AI was all that bad in GRAW. I played through it on hard, and sometimes it seemed like my buddies would kill guys before I could get out of cover and pop them. Sure, if they're getting shot at they won't really move too much and get out of the way, but they're not too bad. You have to remember that the game would suck if they were as good as you.

And no I did not use the cheat to beat it on hard. I actually finished it faster on hard than I did on normal, kind of knowing where the guys were and what I had to do.

I just hate it when you tell them to stay someplace and then you go to scout or flank and you turn around and they are standing out in the middle of the street.... but that was on normal mode... maybe they are smarter on hard mode. We will see.

Just starting out.

Can you create a team on XBOX live and talk to each other and battle the bad guys together? I want to play with other guys as a team and work together. I want to talk to them on my headset.

Yes, you can pretty much do what you are asking. It lends to some very sweet experiences. Well in a sense you aren't really creating a team (can't bring AI guys with you online like the main campaign in which you give them orders. They would get their asses killed pretty quickly anyways ) just your guy to join a team on live, part of the team. You have your live account and you can have 3 other live accounts on your box or you can have 3 other guests. If guests they can't use mics which sucks, so sometimes you end up telling your friend what to say in the mic which isn't as effective.

You can have up to 16 players total doing missions, or any other type of game which is a blast. Of course depending on the map and host (some of the new ones are massive!) 16 players may be too many to handle and some might get dropped.

Drop your gamertage and I'll add you to play with if I ever see you online.. "crackmont k1lla"
