Just thought this was relevant info, story published yesterday:

HANOVER, Germany (Reuters) - LG Electronics (066570.KS), one of the world's biggest optical drive makers, will support HD DVD as well as Blu-ray in the emerging war over the next DVD standard, it said on Wednesday.

Until now LG Electronics was firmly in the Blu-ray camp, together with most of the other big consumer electronics firms such as Sony Corp (6758.T), Philips (PHG.AS), Dell (Nasdaq:DELL - news) and Matsushita's (6752.T) Panasonic.

LG is the second high-profile Blu-ray supporter to change position after Hewlett-Packard (NYSE:HPQ - news), the world's second biggest PC maker, decided last month to also support HD DVD alongside Blu-ray.

In addition, the delay of PS3 till possibly December and announcements that HD-DVD will launch in Europe within two months of US launch DOES NOT look good for BluRay.

I've got a pile of SACD discs that says this is going to pan out per my previous posts... And no, this is not an anti-Sony post - just a realistic assesment... but I expect to be vilified once more, so I'll raise my cross and sprinkle some holy water! :-)
