I attempted to do this, but without success. I added a 'Pictures' activity that does this:
When you start the Generic Activity Activity, the remote will ensure your system is set up as follows:
Device Status / Actions
Westinghouse TV Westinghouse TV is on
Microsoft Game Console (With DVD) Microsoft Game Console (With DVD) is on
Other All other devices are off
TV TV is set to "YPBPR1"
Game Console (With DVD) The remote pauses for 10000 milliseconds
Game Console (With DVD) "DirectionLeft" command is sent to the Game Console (With DVD)
Game Console (With DVD) "DirectionLeft" command is sent to the Game Console (With DVD)
Game Console (With DVD) "DirectionDown" command is sent to the Game Console (With DVD)
Game Console (With DVD) "DirectionDown" command is sent to the Game Console (With DVD)
Game Console (With DVD) "Enter" command is sent to the Game Console (With DVD)
Game Console (With DVD) "Enter" command is sent to the Game Console (With DVD)
Game Console (With DVD) "DirectionLeft" command is sent to the Game Console (With DVD)
But what I get when I press this activity button are these issues:
1) The appropriate devices sometimes turn on/off correctly, but sometimes don't, and I have to start over. (I think this
may be merely because I am not pointing my remote down towards the Xbox enough, but I have my doubts. Someone mentioned earlier in this thread seeing different behavior between a device under the activity macro, and a device as it responds to the devices menu. Does anyone have timing/repeat recommendations for the Xbox 360?)
2) The Xbox does not change blade (the intention behind the DirectionLeft commands), but after a bit of delay (10000 might be too long), the selection cursor does move down within the Xbox live page.
3) The LCD will be blank with no 'soft keys' active that I can use to operate anything.
4) The directional pad buttons will have no effect. I have to manually select the Xbox with the Device screen, and then they will function properly.
Obviously, I'm not certain I have set the commands correctly, but everything seemed logically correct when I was setting it all up.

What is XIR?
PS: I have a Xbox-media related question that has nothing to do with remotes. When I connect to the computer for pictures, the array of folders presented is hugely bloated by the existence of the My Music directory I also shared with Windows Media Connect. My hypothesis is that whatever process that looks for pictures is indisciminant between the My Pictures and My Music shares, and is seeing the album art JPGs. This isn't as bad as it could be, because all the pictures I want to look at are within subfolders that begin with numbers, and thus are near the top of the list, but is still not desirable. Is there a fix for this that still allows the music to be listened to?
