I have mine programmed with the device "Windows Media Center SE" and I mapped "Guide" to "Guide" and it works with no problem. The only change I made was learning the "green button" and mapping it to the menu button. I've done it this way on my 880 and 900 without issues.

Have tried searching this forum - too long to read every post. I've got an 880 which is not never worked well on the motion sensor - I have to tap it a time or two for it to light up, and of course the volume buttons are really bad, but the bigger problem which is mentioned in post 1489 is that the backlighting on the bottom half of the remote doesn't work. I don't see any follow up or resolution to that, but was wondering if I missed it. I've found the directions to opening the remote and cleaning contacts - so I'll try that for the volume, but am still looking for maybe an LED problem or other problem related to the bottom half of the backlighting not working well. TIA for any insight.

Yesterday my charge panel's blue light can't turn on. It still can charge the remote. Anyway to repair this?

My 880 has programable buttons and I handle all my problems by including in my device setup all the possibilities for that device.......then when programming the activity I include the device in the sequance of the turn on and add things like changing inputs or special tasks in the advanced programming of that activity.

Logitec has most devices already in their database like my Denon AVR which has about 100 codes but a horrible remote. The Harmony does the job.

Plug in your USB to your remote, start the harmony software and connect to Logitec and discover the commands available for your remote.

Just got a Panasonic TCP 65VT30 Plasma. Using with Harmony 880 remote. I select set form site but don't get any button selections like menu, picture, aspect. I'm a little suprised that Harmony does not have data associated with TV remote. Should I try IF link or inquire with Harmony about update there data base?

It's essentially the same command set that my S2 has (except 3D) and I never had any issue controlling anything. What is missing from the above list that you need?

You are correct. I went back and looked and there it be. Only one I'm not seeing is Format button. That's the one to change picture from Standard, Cinema, Custom, THX....
I'm also debating which is better. Put buttons with device or program within activity so botton is on screen of activity.

If there is a Format button on the OE remote, just have the Harmony learn it. Same for any other button on the OE remote that the database might be missing. Then you can the command to any button in either device or activity modes.

Personally, I avoid using Device mode like the plague, but I still set up Device mode for each device just to make sure that every command is there... "just in case".

Anything you use on even a semi-regular basis should be added to the Activity that requires it.

Has anyone used their Harmony remote with a Comcast DCX3501 DVR? It works except for the 30 second skip. The 30 second skipped worked fine with my older DCH3416.

You should be able to go in and add skips or pauses if you like, right?

I'm not sure. I never had to custom add it with my old DVR. Also, I'd like it to be on the hard button that it was on. It's been so long since I've really gotten into configuring I can't remember if the hard buttons can be customized.

They all can. Do you have the program/drivers to program the remote still?

Look for a command called advance, it is often labeled as this vs. skip.

Similarly, I just went from the DVR that Verizon uses for FiOS to a Motorola DCX3510 with Time Warner. At first, I didn't even have to setup my Harmony for the new box. My old setup worked. But I went ahead and configured it for the DCX3510 anyway, to get some of the newer buttons I would need.

In both cases, before and after reconfiguring, the skip forward does not work. I had either this same box or a similar one before with Time Warner, and skip forward worked fine. I asked the install tech while he was here, and he said there is no commercial skip. I think that Time Warner has it locked out, and I suspect that Comcast may, too.

I have 3 Comcast Motorola DVRs of different ages & model numbers, and they all respond to the Logitech command "SkipForward" with a ~30-second jump. The Comcast remote controls no longer have this button on them, though.

The easy fix is to simply add a volume up and volume down button to the list of activities. It'll then appear on the remote screen.

The battery in my 880, which probably dates back to 2007 or so, isn't holding its charge like it used to. Originally a charge lasted a week, now it's down to three or four days. Has anyone had luck finding a replacement battery in some place like Radio Shack or similar?

I have a few questions for some Harmony experts regarding IR Outlets, zone lighting and the 880.

Question 1:
Is there a cheap / simple IR Outlet solution so I can power on/off some LED "courtesy" floor lights I have? I just need to toggle on/off but dimming functionality would be nice.

Question 2:
Can I separate my 2 Lutron Maestro MIR-600THW AllON / AllOFF commands.
Currently if I send one IR Dimmer the command, both dimmers receive it at the same time so my front and rear recessed lighting reacts identical. If this is possible, I could simply build an outlet box and add a 3rd Lutron IR Dimmer.

Question 3:
Can I tell Harmony that when ALL Devices are off, to turn my IR Dimmers ON? I think if I spend a bit of time thinking this through it may be possible. So if I hit power, since the lights are all off...it will turn off devices, but turn ON lights.

Attached are some pics of the floor lighting and box I could see building if it doesn't pickup the other dimmer IR commands.

Anyone find a fix for a failing 880 LCD screen? My guess is that there's nothing that can be done, but my 880 screen is washed out over about 75% of the screen... what should be a solid blue background is washed-out white in the middle from the top to most of the way to the bottom. I contacted Logitech who stepped me through a couple actions but none solved it. FWIW, I removed the battery, set it on the charger, and had the same issue. I updated the firmware on the remote, but that didn't do it. So far it's useable but my guess is that this will worsen to the point where I can't see the screen, and then it's trash-can time. Appreciate any thoughts from anyone on this.

I discovered NBC's new subchannel, COZI TV, a couple of weeks ago and it has become one of our favorites. They show classic movies and old TV shows, going as far back as Hopalong Cassidy and The Lone Ranger. But their wasn't an icon for COZI TV on iconharmony.com I asked Squareeyes if he could add it and a day or two later there it was.

I'm having a difficult time programming my wife's 880 to be able to use the standard "Pause" and "Play" buttons to operate a Lutron Maestro light controller while playing a DVD. I have a Harmony 720 I use downstairs and it worked fine with my light controller. On the 880 under "Activities" I added a sequence for Pause- AllLightsON and Play- AllLightsOff. just like I did on the 720. I even tried adding under "Devices" for the Lutron Customize Buttons Pause - AllLightsOn and Play - AllLightsOff which didn't help. On the 880 remote if I select "Device" than select "Light Controller" the standard "Pause" and "Play" buttons will operate the light controller but not the DVD player. I have to go back to "Activies" to operate the DVD player. These remotes have always worked great for me so I'm guessing I'm doing something stupid. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not familiar with dimming lights, but if I understand you right, you went to devices, selected the light controller, and it operates ok, but it won't operate the DVD player. Is that right? 'cause if so, that would seem right -- you are controlling the 'lights' device, and not the DVD device. Activities will control multiple devices.

One thing you can check is the key assignments in your activity, and make sure the right device is being controlled with the right command for the button (soft or hard) that you are pressing.

You need to launch the Harmony software, go to the Watch Blu-Ray/DVD activity and select Customize Buttons. Then select Additional Buttons, for Pause and Play select Add Sequence... you can then add the instructions for your light controller to the pause and play buttons.

Thanks! Yes it operates like you said. The reason I mentioned that I tried selecting "devices" was to show that the remote does recognize the light dimmer. Under "Activities" everything works fine with my DVD player it just doesn't control my light dimmer also when I hit "Pause" or "Play". The key assignments for my "Watch a DVD" activity are all correct for the DVD player and I added a Sequence for the light dimmer. I have compared the light dimmer settings to my 720 remote and everything is the same. I am really stumped.

Very strange indeed. I also have the Maestro light system and it works fine for me.

Never had a problem with this remote until now... So we get a new tv, the Panasonic P60U50 and the remote will turn it on and still functions with the receiver but when you try to switch it over to Play DVD or HDMI 2 the menue pops up on the tv but it won't change it over. I've tried everything and it still won't switch it over, it's driving me batty!

Not sure I understand your exact issue, but be careful when changing the TV. There are different methods used by the Harmony to control the device, depending on how the TV changes inputs. Take a look through the setup software to troubleshoot the control of the TV device. Experiment with what the issues are that you are seeing and try different troubleshooting methods in the software. Watch the TV behavior closely based on the commands the One is sending.

If I press the DVD button the menu on the TV comes up showing hdmi 1 and hdmi 2 but it won't switch to hdmi 2, it just hangs. Vice versa as well. If we have it on hdmi 2 and hit the tv button the menu will come up but won't switch to hdmi 1.

So you have an activity called "watch a DVD" or something like that, and when you press it, the TV input menu comes up but it will not switch to the correct input? And similarly, you have a "watch TV" activity, and when you press it, the input menu comes up but will not switch to the correct input? Presuming I've guessed what you are trying to do, you can absolutely use the software to troubleshoot that per my earlier post.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'hangs' but I would also test this using the original remote to ensure you know where the point of failure is. If it doesn't work with the original remote I wouldn't think the issue is with the Harmony at all.
