Gotta becareful of all the hype! Come in with low expectations!

It will not garner any best actor awards or awards for the script, however, it is one of the best guy movies I've ever seen and has some very decent bass sections. Almost didn't recognize Sean William Scott as he "blew up" for this film and has subsequently slimmed down again for that American Reunion movie coming out shortly.

This, been playing this every chance I get and it's just amazing. Dripping with great LFE and surround...

Immortals

Has it all, loud sound effects, insane bass. The tidal wave scene will destroy subs. You need one hell of a system to properly play this movie.

This is a short documentary, not exactly a great "storyline" but I have been to a shuttle launch and there is a scene about a quarter of the way into the disc where they show a shuttle launch - my Bagend Infrasub 18 was working overtime to shake the foundation of my home. If you just want to test out your LFE, I would highly recommend getting a copy. The whole disc is beautiful, but we are talking LFE. It is a great test scene.

So its a good movie as well? I find it funny when the commercials say "first must own BD of the year" when I havent even heard of the movie.

Yeah, sort of a sub movie for people who think they hate sub movies. Artfully done, dramatically integrated. This movie stayed in my head for a few days, was getting annoying. So I bought it.

Really you haven't heard of Immortals? I remember wanting to see it so bad in the theaters but never got around to it. IMO its a great movie, a mix between 300 and Clash of the Titans. The Titans in this movie are a little different than what eveyone is used to. But this movie has a couple of scenes with earth shattering bass, it will test all subs to the limit! When Poseidon crashes into the ocean turn that mother up! If you have speakers that can handle it, everyone in the neighborhood will hit the deck thinking the world just ended! Its serious....

So you are saying that my dual Klipsch RW-12Ds and dual PL-200s might die an unexpected death if I play this movie a little loud ??? They made it thru Tron : Legacy a few months ago. You guys got me worried about getting this one....

I can't tell if you guys are kidding or what. Are you just making some sacrastically praising comments about these movies or did your subwoofer actually withstand damage?
My subs did not get damaged in any way but they were put to a severe test with Immortals. Just be careful with your sub levels if you decide to watch this movie. If you have strong powerful subs like a Captivator or Submersive then by all means go for it as loud as you like.

I just checked out that tidal wave scene. It had me clapping. Then I laughed my ass off thinking of the destroying equipment line of replies. Pokekevin's one about his sub making odd noises was the clincher. I was thinking "What kind of noise, would that have to be, that you'd go "Oh, my subwoofer has never made that sound before". So thanks for that one too.

It's great hearing how everyone is enjoying their subs. That's what this hobby is all about !

The odd noises some people talk about is usually port noise. It happens when the subwoofer is working a little too hard to reproduce a deep note it was not intended to reproduce. Too much air is getting forced out from the ports.
