That's one sweet system Besides Platinum series, I would also check out Synchrony line.
Thanks for the response.
Answers to your questions:
1. The ratio would be 50/50 with movies/music. I do like to listen to classical, jazz, blues, rock and hip hop.
2. Right now, I have an old school Yammy x995. I was thinking of upgrading to one of the new Yammy Aventage Series.3. I was thinking of a HSU sub. Maybe the vtf-1. Is there a better option?
The room is 23x23. The sitting listening position seated in a chair would be 12 feet from the speaker with the speaker being 1ft from the wall. It seems the smaller B6 has the same tweeter and woofer as the T6 with the T6 having an additional woofer which I assume would make it extend farther in the lower bass region than B6. Not sure if I want to be hassled with a subwoofer unless it makes a tremendous difference when watching movies. The wife and I are addicted to Netflix and we order dvd's every week and stream. Also, there is something to be said when coming home from a hard days work, kick back in my football chair with a glass of my favorite poison, close your eyes and listen to jazz, and wonder when your young adult son will move out of the house.....
I would buy a new receiver, especially one that has Audyssey. I don't much like the Yamaha YPAO system, Audyssey is far superior IMO. I don't think there is much to be gained by adding an external amp unless you are running out of headroom for high volume listening, any of the PSBs are not inefficient.
Hsu VTF2 would be a better bet for your size of room
I would always go with speaker+sub combination if you ever watch movies. There is just no substitute for a sub
Thanks warpdrive. Since you mentioned the Audyssey, you probably like Onkyo more than Elite series? The Onkyo TX-NR5008 looks amazing.
Right now, I am squirming because I am trying to decide between either the Monitor Audio RX6 or PSB T6 or B6 setup mentioned above.
Are you a professional installer?
the thread says get the identical center but i still ask which one to get because when i asked my dealer he gave me this reply....
"My dealer said that if i go B6 in the center then the bass will increase in the center but the clarity of dialogue will reduce...."
anyone using identical center here....?
