Thanks for the feedback, it's good to hear that you really like them. I heard the M2s awhile back but they were outside my budget. I found a new sealed pair at a price I could not pass up some I'm pretty excited to get them tomorrow. I have a Velodyne HGS 10 and a SMS 1 so I'm confident they'll mesh well.
You are correct about the impedance switch, on most receivers it does limit the rail voltage. If the receiver is cool to the touch at the 6 Ohm setting at moderate volumes it's probably OK to leave it there.
