This thread has become frustrating. I am a"new" member, but have been lurking for several months, trying to absorb as much info/knowledge as I can from those who obviously have more experience and insight into this technology. The now-closed previous Sharp thread was a wealth of such info up to the last several postings, at which point, it was closed. With the help of this forum as a whole, I have narrowed my choice(s) to the JVC 40" 0r the Sharp 37D90. I am now leaning heavily toward the Sharp #1 d/t space constraints #2 d/t almost non-existant supply of Jvc's #3 true 1080p capability/6ms response of D90. I also have monitered the JVC thread. What I appreciate about that discussion is that almost all(if not all) reviews come from actual owners after doing their comparisons, chose to buy it, and have it in their home where they can truly experience it. I am not anti-Sony. I've been a die-hard consumer of Sony AUDIO components for years. Based on personal experience, I am just not a fan of their TV equip. I think it's been agreed here that they are overpriced just for starters. Everyone who's shopped flat panels has seen XBR's. Many of us have at least one friend/acquaintence who own's one. They DO have excellent PQ(IMO they have excessive lag though). So, for my own reasons, I am not in the market for a Sony TV. If I were, I'd be searching that thread. I don't care how these, or other sets, stand up to Sony. I'd rather know how the Sharps stand on their own;pros/cons, tech info/spec's, tweeking/settings, etc. Unfortunately, we might have lost the most valuable insight into this product line with the closing of the previous thread.
